Damn

I always thought Richardson had more ability than he was able to show in Seattle

But thats a lotta dough for a guy that has really done nothing at all in this league

Albert Wilson got 8 AAV and can cash in with the new CBA. This isn't bad at all.

Hope Alex Smith likes his WRs short. Doctson is the only WR on the roster over 6'0" tall.

That is a LOT of coin for a guy with injury issues. He makes circus catches that are jaw dropping but I'm not sure that warrants 8 mill AAV.

All that matters is the guaranteed money, same as every other deal.

Wilson was surprisingly enough the 25th best WR in the NFL last year, according to PFF. Led all WRs in broken tackles, as well.
He was indisputably an efficient player last year. Watching him all these years I got to ask why this year, however. My suspicion is he was schemed open more so than he got himself open; I have many of the same criticisms for Jarvis Landry minus the volume. He definitely stepped up to the plate after a horrible 2016 season. My question is is he really a WR2, or is he just a toppend WR3 or lowend 2.

It's definitely an interesting player as he can evidently put up efficient performances relative to his role. Not sure the pay reflects that here. Does his production match his performance?

Why did he do better last year? Because Kearse was gone and Lockett got injured. So Richardson moved up the depth chart to #2 and made the most of it. But I read that of his 6 TD's 4 of them came when Russell Wilson was doing his patented "run for your life and eventually find a guy downfield for a huge gain" play that lasted over 4 seconds. No other receiver was even close to that, so it's hard to say how Richardson will do with a guy like Alex Smith throwing the ball instead of Wilson. I hope he does good, I always like PR and thought he'd break out eventually. Too bad he's leaving just when he was starting to get good.

Alex Smith is really good at the 'run for your life and eventually find a guy' but his downfield stuff is usually more planned.

I suspect Paul Richardson big plays will come off the typical 'play action to big bomb' stuff.

The big risk here is Richardson's health on a long-term deal. Guy is made of Charmin as far as I can tell.

As far as redskins FA signings usually go, this is not bad by their standards. He was a piece they needed given the failures of the Pryor and Quick experiments.

But because it's the redskins it will likely still fail somehow lol...and Richardson getting injured is the best bet. Of course I jest but there is some truth in every joke and the turf at Fedex hasn't exactly been good to most players...

$40m over 5 years with $20m guaranteed? Yikes.

He is made of glass and in the event he somehow does stay healthy and perform like he did in 2017, that's still really overpaying for a solid #2 WR.

That is the market we are living in.

Take a look at sammy Watkins contract

He's a really good receiver, fast, good hands overall, it's the injury issues that kept him from going to the next level....
