Kind of surprised this guy isn't signed yet. He's had some serious injury problems the last few seasons, but you would think someone would take a chance with a one year deal. I can't imagine he would be asking for too much, he probably just wants to win a Cup at this point. He would look pretty good on Sid's wing, also I feel like he would mesh perfectly riding shotgun with Stamkos in the Bay.

Anyone else hear any rumblings on this future HOFer?

Apparently Bleacher Report is 100% sure he's going to sign with Anaheim. LOL.

I'm pretty surprised, too. I'm sure he knows he'll be taking a massive pay cut, and unfortunately very few top teams remain that could afford him at say 3-4 mil per. I was a huge fan of his when he was at his best and would still like to see what he could do with some better line mates.

Anyone else remember how great he once was? He was almost Ovechkin good.

Hometown Vancouver discount for league minimum once the Canucks have figured out what to do with Bieksa and Mason Raymond's arb hearing.

Not truly out of the question. This is a guy who got blasted by a few people for taking a low-salary season with the Avs before the lockout, for a chance to win. Didn't work out, but, he doesn't have many more cracks at The Cup.

I wouldn't say that, but I don't know if Buffalo can afford to take on an older player with recent health issues. They are already relying on Connolly and the mentally fragile Vanek.

But if Kariya does want to play on a legit contending team he may have to play for peanuts.

Pens could use him. A line of Kariya/Malkin/Tangradi would be nice.

Kariya and Disco Dan are probably familiar with each other from back in the Mighty Duck days

Quite a few players who could still contribute on the market still. Surprised by this. I guess GM's and teams are just going in the younger direction.

Didn't he already sign a ridiculously low contract once already to try to win a cup?
I can see him definitely doing that again.

As said above, scary to think of him on Sids wing or with Stamkos.

I can also see him nicely flanking Eric Staal, we need someone to replace Ray Whitney. :-)

I have always wanted to see him play on Sid's wing. He would have to go rather cheap though...don't see it happening even though there's precedent from him.

Well maybe if the Flyers can drop shelly and sign Kariya to a very small deal...

If the Penguins go for him, it'll have to be a one-year deal for something less than $1.5 million. I would love to see him in black and [Vegas] gold.

The Sabres should seriously think about re-vamping their wing. I know the Sabres are pretty loaded up front, but they could trade someone like Gerbe or Stafford to add another vet like Kariya who can add some scoring punch.

I'm sick and tired of Darcy's approach. I've come to a boiling point with it. This style of management will win you ZERO.

Eklund is talking Kariya to Buffalo, so I guess you're not getting him. Sorry. :(
