4:00 isnt a solid deadlineI really don't care. We saw this last year where the Broncos and Pats got into an arms race and were both really good teams. Unfortunately Manning got injured and it really derailed the Broncos season. If it happens then the Broncos and every other team deals with it. As I posted on the Patriots board the problem with this trade is the Patriots don't have the Cap Space to make it happen unless they do some renegotiating with some contracts of other players on the team. So a lot would have to happen in the next couple of hours just to make this even a possibility.

there have been exceptions made in prior years. 4:00 isnt a cement line in the sand. This is not baseball.
But to your topic, I heard that the deal is close to being done. I just am not sure how he improves the Pats though. Unless Pats fans like you have started thinking of him as an elite DB starting 1 pm EST.

and yes, the deal is getting done. hes an upgrade from the trash they have back there and he gets to play beside his twin brother.
i break news.
Can you name one of these exceptions? I can't think of a single one.

not off the top of my head, but i know there was one a few years back (before the new deadline) where a guys agent sent something to the wrong fax number, but it was grandfathered to 4:00 because of a league typo or something. Can you name one of these exceptions? I can't think of a single one.

im not talking about dumervil. you are.Actually it wasn't. Dumervil or his agent didn't get the paperwork in on time. They were a couple of minutes late and the NFL told the Broncos and Dumervil "Sorry you are too late." He then was considered a FA and signed with the Ravens. So the NFL holds very true to the deadline that all paperwork must be done by then.
