I honestly don't know how you can get any more talent on that team other than replacing Tom Brady with Colin Kaepernick.

I really don't care. We saw this last year where the Broncos and Pats got into an arms race and were both really good teams. Unfortunately Manning got injured and it really derailed the Broncos season. If it happens then the Broncos and every other team deals with it. As I posted on the Patriots board the problem with this trade is the Patriots don't have the Cap Space to make it happen unless they do some renegotiating with some contracts of other players on the team. So a lot would have to happen in the next couple of hours just to make this even a possibility.

So how do they trade after the deadline? The NFL is very different from that in baseball where there are not really many exceptions to the rule if the paperwork is not at the NFL office by the deadline. The Broncos learned this lesson with Dumervil where the paper work got there just a couple minutes late because Dumervil couldn't find a working Fax Machine.

there have been exceptions made in prior years. 4:00 isnt a cement line in the sand.

and yes, the deal is getting done. hes an upgrade from the trash they have back there and he gets to play beside his twin brother.

not off the top of my head, but i know there was one a few years back (before the new deadline) where a guys agent sent something to the wrong fax number, but it was grandfathered to 4:00 because of a league typo or something.

I'm just not remembering any situation like you are talking about. Plus that was a mistake not a "Hey we are trying to get something worked out so can you give us more time?" I still don't think the NFL allowed it. Now if you can show me then yeah I"ll believe you that it isn't a hard 4 p.m. Eastern Time but so far my experience with the NFL is they are very set on deals have to get done by then. It is why so many deals get done last minute because both sides become extra motivated. Now maybe the Patriots have been working on something for a few weeks and have something in the works. That does happen. From what I have read though most do not think that deal gets done. What the Titans want is just too much for what teams want to give up. When you throw in the contract issues it just makes it highly unlikely. Doesn't mean it can't get done as crazier things have happened but that one is a very difficult one to see happening.
