I do have to wonder who Michigan thinks is a better choice?

They did a follow up poll of Michigan fans to find out what they thought. Here are the results...

Who would make the best coach for the Avs?
3,675 answering

Patrick Roy ------------- 12.9%
A bottle of Vernors ----- 38.2%
A cornhole board ------- 20.4%
Desmond Howard ------- 28.3%

Why do you say that? The Avs have been a fairly classy organization.

I think it's more the case that the fans in Denver were spoiled by instant success and as soon as the team started to struggle, attendance dropped significantly. They have some talented young players on the team yet they can't seem to escape from their successful past (reminds me of the Oilers and the old boys club that they keep bringing back).

Also Marc Crawford was a tool, and they retire numbers every Friday.

So it looks like Giggy is going to be their starter then.

On a side note, I was in Denver a couple of weekends ago and the Post had an article (not sure on the author) that said Varlamov is not Roy's type of goalie and said they should just use Giggy as the starter until they find a go to netminder.

Taking this in another direction, isn't Timmay living somewhere off the grid in Colorado these days? I hear he's a free agent.

That's a shocker.

I think Ryan Miller is Roy's type of goalie.

I would LOVE a pairing of Varlamov and Bobrovsky.

Someone should tell him he'd only have to be in Columbus once, and he can hide his pansy ass easily that one game.

He's done it many times before. Call it the "flu".

No reason to miss ALL the road games, you fucker.

I dunno, one of the best if not THE best goaltender ever, sounds like a great choice for your coach.

On the other hand, can't wait for them to win the Cup, have Roy grab it and go to hold it up triumphantly only to drop it on the ice behind him into the net.

Yeah, the way Foote had a plane waiting in Columbus to take him to Denver on trade deadline day clearly displayed that he wanted outta there. Pretty bad way of handling things considering he was the captain of the Blue Jackets at the time.

He also had worked out the paperwork for his kids to transfer schools ahead of time all the while telling the parents of his kids' youth team (that he helped coach) that he was "in it for the long haul". Media, teammates, everyone got the same line. He had been trying to go back to Denver for a while.

Never played another game in that building. Was always sick or hurt.

Sounds like he stepped on a few toes there. If this were wrestling, I guess you could say he's the heel.
