there is lots of turmoil going on with DHC and snyder . hope they focus
I know it has to be played on the field, but WFT should handle Carolina, and NY has a tough game against Baltimore. Odds are greatly in your all favor.

Of course me calling a game a win before it's played isn't something you want to bet the house on.

Anyway Merry Christmas to you Dad and most....... I mean all WFT fans

I was strictly speaking of a W/L perspective.
Again, you might be right, but personally I'm not seeing it.

As for how I believe he should have been handled, that is far different. I honestly believe Kyle Allen was brought here to be the starter, and I have said that from the beginning. I would have never brought Kyle Allen here in the first place; however, if you bring him here, you start him week 1, and tell DH it is because of a shortened offseason and Allen’s familiarity with the offense, all the while letting DH believe he will get a shot sometime.

Well, we didn’t go that route. We started DH week 1, and the results were predictable. We didn’t get the win against Baltimore, but DH wasn’t the reason for the loss. You don’t bench him there Because it appears petty. If you don’t like what you hear, you speak to him like a man. You let him know the team lost, and he was imperfect. Preferably, you call in a veteran player such as Scherff, or maybe Alex Smith, to speak with DH about the team aspect of the game...maybe ever TM because they have been together before.

Again, we didn’t go that route. Instead we destroyed all hope of progression for the kid. Now he has proven to be a dumb ass with no concept of team. Now we trade him for a paper bag and call it a day. I am fine with that because now DH has earned that treatment. I am done defending what he may have been able to progress too because his character is a bit questionable.

Yeah, your plan sounds like that would've been the way to go far as handling DH. One thing we don't know though is whether or not Snyder had a role in Haskins being named the game one starter. Far as RR bringing Allen with to the Skins to be the starting QB from jump street. Again, you might be right, but if Snyder told RR to start Haskins from day 1. He effectively killed everyone's plan

No, DH wasn't the reason the Skins lost the Balt game. He also wasn't the reason the Skins won, almost won or made the game halfway competitive either. He was just blah. Far as benching him after that game. Maybe it was more than the way DH played that got him benched. How many times has he fucked up now? 3, 4, more times? And you think instead of disciplining him RR should've been starting him the entire season and that the Skins would be no worse than 6-8 and might be better? I can't see, make or understand that connection at all. I'm thinking if RR did something like that the Skins might have 2 possibly 3 wins at best now. Hold up, heh.

If he's a dumbass with no concept team. What exactly do you think he'd learn cuz that's a terrible combination right there.

*IF* the starter is really a gametime decision, and the Giants lose against the Ravens in the 1 PM EST game, would they just go with Haskins? (The game may not be over, but if the Ravens are up for scores or something in the fourth, they would know.) Washington would still need a win to clinch, but not as much as they would if the Giants beat the Ravens.

For that matter, if Haskins then wins, Washington clinches. I know they would want Smith to be in Week 17 to not be rusty, but they wouldn’t also want him to just be in if the game is not meaningful. A week more would be helpful. He’d still be maintaining physical shape in practice.

The NFL did not reschedule the Giants game because either way, Washington needs to win to get in. They bumped Washington to 4 because they didn’t wabt the Cowboys-Eagles game to be meaningless.

I don't see a whole lot of concern about rust with Alex. How much rust does it take to alter a 5 yard pass? Cause that is all AS throws.

He just needs multiple threats, an OC that calls the plays, and a good oline. Trusting the line with his injury history is probably the biggest factor. He won’t make a player a deep threat, he’s not Mahomes, but can use a Tyreek Hill, Kelce, etc. He will be replaced before Washington has those type players besides Maclauren, who I think Smith would have used more in 2017. (Yes, his career MO is the safe play and he isn’t Brees (who throws the next shortest passes) to make up for it and doesn't have the mobility to threaten defenses.)

Just to be clear, I do agree with you that he passes short. It would be stupid for me not to. I couldn’t just say if he has all-world talent around him he can do well for himself. I just mean that the extreme of one side of the spectrum is probably due to not having the personnel and line/mobility, playcalling, small wiggle room since games are close and team is young, etc. He relatively could do much better with time (drafts, etc.) but age will cut that short.

Tmac out. Smith practiced in full today but is 50/50 for Sunday. Could get Gib back.

  • lex Smith (calf) is questionable for Week 16 against the Panthers.

Smith practiced in full on Friday but is still considered “50-50” to return against Carolina. Even if he is able to get back onto the field, he’ll likely do so without Terry McLaurin (ankle), who’s doubtful to suit up. The Panthers don’t offer a respectable pass rush against Washington but Smith should still be considered a fringe SuperFlex option without the team’s most competent receiver.

As you probably know. The public is all over Redskins. :scared:

You are absolutely correct which is a good sign for us. However, I'm waiting to see what the sharps will do with this game which will happen about 15 or 20 minutes before it kicks off. The public loves favorites and that's why they lose so much. This line opened at WTF -2 and it has gone as high as -3.5 but most shops have the line at -2.5 or -3 right now. The sharps pick and choose their games carefully that they will be involved with and they might not touch this game either way but I'll find out before game time with the line movement.

There is an old saying in sports betting which is so true which goes like this:

Smart money bets early, smart money bets late, and all of those in between (public) are the ones who take the bait.

That’s the problem. Last I heard the sharps were on the panthers.

this will be a close game . the type of game that will make country flip the hell out

I expect this game to be close too and I don't like us being a favorite for the first time in quite awhile since we have done pretty well as a dog lately including covering against the Seahawks.
