Again if he plays like that he is a quality QB, the issue is he doesn’t play like that , that’s all that needs to be said . I know about halftime adjustments and such but that wasn’t the point

I know that wasn’t your point. I was trying to say that the likelihood of him playing like that from beginning to end isn’t likely consistently, partly due to playcalling, coaching, etc. I feel the way he played in the second half is a product of being behind and desperate so that the coaches would call more aggressive calls and due to some halftime adjustment strengths this coaching staff may have. This is my opinion due to how the other quarterbacks have played in the first and second halfs.

This either tells me that Smith is not starting (Haskins 1, Heinicke 2) or that they are going to do the same thing as they did last week in keeping three active quarterbacks on the game day roster. You can only have 46 players on game day. Or they really don’t know about Smith and are worried about Haskins (injury in game or performance). They don’t waste these reps.

Or since only a short period of time the media can watch, they may have put Heinicke’s reps here.

Haskins may start, but since the media doesn’t get to watch the whole practice, and the practice report says that Smith was limited, we don’t really know whether just passing was all he did on the sideline. I’m not saying he took reps, but “did not practice“ is different than limited when trying to guess whether there’s a progression to start. But yes, if betting money, one should guess Haskins.
