Age is too. 25 and 3 1,200K seasons with a carousel QB room. He is worth more than a 3rd
I like Moore and think he is a good player, but you are rounding up 3 times to try and make a point. He doesn't have three 1,200 yard seasons. He's never actually had a 1,200 yard season and has had 21 TDs in 5 full seasons and at 6' tall Fields is going to throw balls over his head all year long. Agree with you on his age being a big plus though

I'll be shocked if Rchardson wasn't converted to a WR or another skill position. He just can't complete a pass.
I disagree. He needs a lot of work but his flaws are correctable. It’s malpractice from the Florida staff that a man with his elite feet has such poor footwork as a QB. He’s a 1 year sit, 1 year take your lumps type of prospect. If a team has the vision, patience, and ability to teach and develop he presents things you just can’t teach.

That being said, he’s a risky pick because you need everything to bounce right in his development. I don’t have access the way NFL scouts do with interviews and the like. My big question would be do I have a worker who is driven to be the best. If that component is there, he’s worth taking the risk if I believe in my staff’s ability to develop.

I would go Stroud unless I’m in love with Richardson and I have a plan for his development. I don’t like investing in Young because of his size.

I’m in the boat

When in doubt, take the big guy lol

I don’t hate Young as a prospect. His ability to extend plays is incredible and a huge factor in the way the game is played now. But his size really scares me. He’s sub 6 foot. He’s fighting an uphill battle on the hit rate for QBs under 6 feet.

You can slice it and dice it all you want, but to imply that Moore is not a #1 receiver is just wrong. Sure, he may not be in the Jefferson-Hill-Chase stratosphere, but averaging 1100 yards per season the past four years despite playing under a carousel of QBs, definitely qualifies as a #1. I'll put it another way, how many receivers have accumulated more yardage in that same timespan. I don't know the exact number, but I'll wager any amount you have more fingers on your two hands than that number of receivers.

I was wondering the same thing which would definitely take him out of consideration for a high pick if GMs are thinking that. He's a physical freak but no way is he ready to be a QB in the NFL. And if converted to something else, does he even have what it takes to learn route running, etc. Or does some team try to make him into a Taysom Hill gimmick?
He’s the same player as LJ. With a chance of being better. These guys while young and fresh open up a passing game with their legs. They don’t have to be the most accurate, but when they start to take all the hits eventually they start to second guess about running and that’s when their game starts to fall off. LJ would’ve been the best rb in his draft

He had 2 really good seasons in

'21: 93 catches for 1,157 yards, 12.4ypc, 4 TDs

'19: 87 catches for 1,135 yards, 13.5ypc, 4 TDs

With no real QB chucking the ball to him.

Drew Brees and Russell Wilson had pretty good careers, despite not having prototypical size.

Agreed. But they’re the exception and not the rule.

Meant Moore is only 6' and in the games I watched Fields there seemed to be more high throws than from an average NFL QB
Oh gotcha that’s fair. Let’s be real though. For any of this to matter Fields needs to take a step forward as a passer. He has legit weapons now. Tip of the cap to the Bears to do their job in getting him weapons for him to either succeed or fail and help them evaluate their real future.

I didn't imply he wasn't a #1 receiver did I?

If you do want my opinion on it and a #1 receiver is a top 32 WR in the league I definitely think he is a #1. Like I said, I like Moore. As far as his stats go, playing a full season without missing a bunch of games to injury and not having any other WRs to really steal targets offsets the "QB carousel" a bit. Nothing wrong with an 1,100 yard, 4 TD season. Not exactly incredible either which was my point.

The football God's should fire Reich if the Florida kid is picked 1st overall.
DJ Moore is the reason why Chicago clearly won this trade.

anything else is just off season fan chatter.

Fair enough, I thought by your previous post that you were implying he wasn't #1 material. Yet I agreed he wasn't in the very top tier either. Only a select few belong in that elite category. But he's a fine tier two level pass catcher. Damned skippy that Poles obtained him.
