There is a lot of talk about Palmer on Twitter right now. Adam schefter says there are people who think he'll be back next week.

His coming back now would be a horrible clusterfuck for the team.......which is why he should do it, forcing Brown's hand.....

Mike Brown sucks donkey dicks......

Yeah, I don't see how he would possibly be ready to play, but it would at least provide some entertainment for Bengals fans other than seeing if we can start out with 2 wins in our first 5 games.

How would it "force" his hand? Makes no sense. The team is well under the cap and can afford him.

You think MB cares about the circus it would create? The same guy who brought on Owens last year with Ocho?

Palmer comes back it forces nothing. I think nothing more would please MB than to smile at Carson and say "Welcome back" and be "right" about not trading him.

It's not the cap. It's the 11.5 million out of MB's pocket...

And that is the sad part. Brown and his cronie fans (I'm looking at you Crash) would talk about how Brown won and Carson lost. They don't realize that the only real losers here are the fans.

Palmer: With Dalton drafted as his replacement all but assures he'll be traded next offseason.
Brown: Salvages his ego.
Fans: Get to watch a circus. Watch Palmer under center take away any chance of a top pick with little to no expectation of making the playoffs.

This is only the case if Palmer is on the bench. Brown will have Palmer start, and that's the end of it. As far as he's concerned, he has lost nothing.

Yea, pretty much...

Brown's dream is to be "competitive" every yr.. ie win enough games to make it appear as though they're still in the playoff hunt so fans buy tickets. they have to re-build now and that starts with acquiring picks when possible

and he's causing issues with the coaching staff, stunting the growth of the QB of the future, etc to win the pissing match.. he'll also be throwing a QB without any training camp or knowledge of the playbook out to the wolves

I know Brown will do it..

find it difficult to imagine he'll be dressing up for the Bengals.

His brother is already on the out, I don't think Gradkowski can be on the practice squad, so we'd have to release him.

We've talked about how Palmer will have his contract guaranteed if he returns by September 9th.

What does it mean if he comes back say September 10th? The Bengals can refuse to pay him?

I think the 9th is the last day that the full is garaunteed. so I've always interputed the 9/9 deadline to mean after that date it's no longer a full contract or garunteed...

thats entirely a guess though

11.5 mil out of Browns pocket...nah.

Brown would spend that to "be right" and to "force" palmer to return to the team.

Unfortunately, the only losers, as stated above, are the fans. MB doesn't care. He'll make more than enough money this year, with or without the 11.5 going towards Palmer. That's the sad reality. It will be interesting to see how it changes, if it changes, in 2013 when the cash has to be spent one way or another.

9/9 means nothing to Palmer..... Getting cut is exactly what he wants to happen. So even if the money isn't guaranteed, he knows he'll get cash from a new team.

It's important because money means the world to Brown. Coming back by 9/9 guarantees Brown pays him 11.5 million.
