OK, this is going to be a long night... Paxton can't keep leaving fastballs over the middle of the plate and expect to get away with it up here at the ML level... He's getting shelled...

97-98mph fastballs.. GREAT. Except you cant leave them over the plate. No wonder he belongs in the minors.

Paxton is a great example of someone who can throw a 98mph fastball but need to be able to locate. These are mlb hitters.... They will crush your fastballs even if they're 110mph down the middle. Lmao.

I hate shifts in baseball these days. That blooper by Kemp was also a factor... Any othet time that would be a popout to cano.

Never like shifts and never will. Way too many factors in the bottom of the 1st that led to 6 runs.

The shift is effective because hitters so rarely beat it. Pretty simple. It's not some abstract thing. Bloops and the rare inside out base hit by predominantly pull hitters skews the perspective of some.

It pisses me off that it's no longer a priority to try to get hitters to practice inside out swings or adjust in any way.

At 27 yrs old.. Im done with Paxton. If he hasnt amount to anything yet, he will never.

Having a great fastball means nothing if you cant locate.

I said we needed to trade him during the winter when he had some value. Yankees wanted him but we held on to hm long enough to suck all the value out of him...sound familiar? We do t all the time.

He has NO movement on his ball. Straight heat that doesn't fool anyone.
