I am not touting the talent of Reed, but how is that formally #72 ranked prospect working out for the Whitesox?

Besides the point though. Obviously his stock has since gone down since he has been in the White Sox system. Not intentionally trying to imply Reed sucks. I didn't know precisely how long Street was controlled at the time of the comment. I don't particularly hold Towers in high esteem though in any case.

The twitterverse exploded with Padres fans vowing they'll walk away from the team if Kevin Towers comes back which as I told them makes no damn sense at all. Hell at this point, I'll welcome him back with open arms!

The Padres have the best record in baseball when leading after 7 innings. Losing Street and Benoit will guarantee us losing many more games in the second half. No doubt guys in the 'pen are excited about the new opening. Does Benoit go straight to closer?

I figured Benoit opted for San Diego because he saw Street being dealt as a real possibility. He's proven he can handle the closers role just fine. Not sure if your Padres are just dumping salary or trying to restock some position player talent. Benoit could probably bring a prospect or two if he's not your closer going forward.

I think it was tied. Could be wrong though. They have been several games blown past the 7th inning that were tied. (Damn offense and an insistence on not using the best relievers not named Holland on the roster)

Yeah, it was tied.(I shouldn't have ha to look it up, I was there. ) Nathan has blown so many saves they kind of start to run together after awhile. (And vultures a lot of Ws while doing it.)
