I really hate to see him go to the Angels when they need a closer so bad.

What would the Padres get I wonder? Something somewhat decent I would think.
Well shit. Two best teams in the AL are in the West. A d coming into the season I thought the Rangers were. Hope Benoit is still on the block.
Yeah that sucks. Maybe SD at least gets a bat or, better yet, a whole bag of bats.
No details yet but I certainly hope that they get excellent value. There are no shortages of holes to fill.
The Padres have the best record in baseball when leading after 7 innings. Losing Street and Benoit will guarantee us losing many more games in the second half.No doubt guys in the 'pen are excited about the new opening. Does Benoit go straight to closer?
If Addison Reed can get the #72 prospect, I would think Street could get more ( not sure how long he is controlled though).
Yesterday
"Hoston Street is the best closer in baseball" Hammerdown
Today
"I never liked Hoston Street, I always thought he was overjetered" Hammerdown

On second thought... Towers.![]()
Last year of the contract... Bummer the Padres FO didn't evaluate their talent level very well last season.
