Realistically, I think we need a bit of luck and a virtually injury free season to take the NL West. My biggest concern is the outfield defensively. It's just nothing to write home about and the same might be said for the infield, so we will need some offensive output to make up for it. I think Petco park is going to make Shields look very, very good, and with a solid bullpen I see our pitching being our strong point. If the cards fall just right for us, I think a playoff spot is a solid bet.

Don't forget that the Giants last year just barely scraped into the post season as the bottom seed. They got hot and won. But they were very close to not even getting in to the post season

Padres have been great to follow this offseason. Ive always been a closet padres fan, loved tony gwynn rip rest in peace. Hope they can snag a playoff spot. I think wil myers is going to blow up soon, along with jason heyward and bryce harper. Harper is going to be ridiculous.
