I don't care much for the guy but he adds a chippyness that Marvin lacks. I love him as a player. He counteracts Marvin's sleepy approach. He's 'all out'. He's what we need more of

Apparently, he just got fed up of Cooper getting his hands in on his neck and under his mask while blocking. Here's the one that was just before the scrum.

Lets not forget that Jones had a significant neck injury..... It ended his season in 2010.

Can't blame the guy for being a little defensive.

It was completely unnecessary to throw his hand up there, and I feel a lot better about it now than I did before. It's almost justified at this point.

What did Pacman do to Cooper for which Cooper responded this way?

See what I did there?

Pacman is a bonehead. He always has been. Let's not find a video to justify his actions. Because more than likely that wasn't what set it all off. You can tell from Cooper's follow-up to the hit that he was ready to get in Pacman's face and was just trying to elicit a reaction from Pacman. That and Pacman lost any benefit of the doubt a long time ago.

Why? When has he done anything on the field that he got in trouble for?

Leaving off the field stuff out of it, what has PacMan done on the field to make you say that? I honestly can't remember him getting any other personal fouls or taunting penalties since he's been a Bengal. I might be wrong though.

I think he was/is sensitive about people going after his face/neck. He lost control of himself and it happened. It was unnecessary and it was dirty..... Wasn't nearly as dirty as some of the shit Burfict has done over the last year or two.

I have to agree with this. Too much is being made of Pacman's past having something to do with what happened Sunday. It was a spur of the moment reaction. Was it a dirty play? Hell yeah it was. Should he be held accountable for his actions? Absolutely. That doesn't mean the NFL should throw the book at him just because his jersey says Adam Jones on the back.

I mean, it's not like this guy rips guys helmets off, or stomps on dudes, or kicks guys in the crotch on a regular basis, like a certain other repeat offender. They teach that at Nebraska. Not West Virginia.

You are correct he hasn't had many penalties, and no unnecessary roughness since 2012. Admittedly, I did have Burfict more in mind regarding on field antics.

That said, I do still think he's a bonehead, and it wouldn't surprise me the least bit if he were at fault as it wouldn't be a leap to assume bad behavior off the field could translate on the field, though it hasn't happened at least in years.

All that said, based on Cooper's reaction following the punch, immediately getting in Pacman's face, I still believe something(s) preceded Cooper's punch. If not, I don't see Cooper reacting as he did. Who though was the initial initiator, I don't know.

Agreed.

Overall he had a nice game on Sunday though.... Interesting to see a corner getting better with age.

Doesn't that seem to happen here? Jones, Newman, Hall when he is healthy, who also had a nice game sunday. Somehow we get the most out of older CBs.

It seems counterintuitive.... If I could think of one position in the NFL that would be most predicated on quickness and athleticism, I would assume it would be corner. And I guess I would then assume that all the good ones would be young - Once you lose a gear, you should be screwed.... But you're right, we've had some luck with guys north of 30.

Probably because it's not as much about quickness as it is about getting the right read on the QB/WR and the route they are running. With more mature CB's, you get film study habits. You get experience that you can call on in games. It's not often you see WR's running straight 40 yard dashes for balls in the game. Maybe a few times. And if a team has a WR with that kind of speed, you can be sure there will be some Safety over top help coming.

I think the other thing to remember is, when a team can pressure the QB, it helps the DB's immensely. Not only do they not have to cover for as long, but you can cut down the amount of route options available.
