Safety depth is a problem. I assume Gute will sign a street FA and in the meantime Jacson and/or Tramon play back there just to have some familiarity with the defense.

UPDATE: The Packers reportedly believe that the injury is not serious but will conduct some tests on Savage this week to confirm. It sounds like he should at least have a chance to play in week three when the Packers host the Denver Broncos.

With the ability to bring people back it makes sense to use the roster spot if you know the injury will take at least 6-8 weeks
