1. Just because you say someone was owned, doesn't mean they were. In fact, generally speaking, it means you had no other reply.

2. Yes. Oregon draws more eyes than Rutgers or UCLA. But it's not about the football or how many eyes an individual team draws, it's about the market and those 2 schools are in the 2 biggest markets in the country. Oregon isn't.

3 All 4 of my kids quit saying ''owned'' about the time they quit going to junior high school.

4. The fact that it looks like the only way that Oregon gets an invite is if Notre Dame joins should tell you all you need to know.

5. The B1G doesn't seem to be interested in further expansion unless it involves Notre Dame and the Big 12 seems interested in the Arizona schools because they're in a growing market and there is a potentially lucrative basketball rivalry between Arizona and Kansas.

B10 will go to 20. Adding Oregon, Washington and Stanford helps out with the travel for USC and UCLA. They will hold out for ND but if they decide to stay independent then the B10 goes with Cal.

Sheeesh. Talk about night and day with the difference at offense with the Huskies last year and tonight. Can already see it on display. Every play doesn't look like it was one of 3 choices from the 1960s. So happy with the new coach staff so far.

Well Cougs looked great except their running backs can’t hold onto the ball our kicker blows. The -28 gets covered by the third quarter without 3 fumbles and 2 missed field goals. Ward can be a potential stud but we will see if he can handle going to the shithole house in Madison.

So begging when you read the actual report. Oregon brought their A squad to beg to get into the B1G while they brought the C squad and todays performance proves why it was their C squad they allowed to talk to Oregons reps

Stating the obvious: Seeing Morris (last years' starter) come into the game in the 4th really emphasized the difference in QB play.

Penix looks like the real deal. Heck, probably better than any QB on the Seahawk's roster at the moment!

The D looked suspect though. The D line struggled a little with consistency, and the secondary couldn't slow down the Cephis kid.

Yahh, I was impressed with Penix. He seemed very comfortable and confident from the opening snap. Can throw the short and long ball with accuracy, but has a nice soft touch making it very catchable passes. We'll see how he does against Mich St. in two weeks, but last night was such a relief after the past two years this program went through. Feels like we got the right coach and staff for the program.

I admitably hadn't looked into Penix much. The ACL issues are an obvious concern. Hopefully he holds up.

So I've only seen the one game and that was against lower competition, but I was surprised to see that he was so low in the draft rankings. Most places seem to have him as a 35 to 45 ranked QB, which would likely be undrafted. He looked like a 1st round pick on Saturday though.

Let's see what he can do against bigger programs!

It’s only a difference because our conference dropped the ball. We had a strangle hold on the Mormon Polynesian kids but have been losing them since Scott took over, and under Scott started losing skill players. Can’t put 100% on Scott, it also had to do with the west coast not emphasizing mens athletics and donors on the west coast not changing with the times when boosters from other schools were paying players under the table. The Reggie Bush deal was huge because the SEC saw the dynasty, but when Oregon’s recruiting issue happened there wasn’t a bleep on the radar because no one is afraid of Oregon.
