Expansion is about tv markets. Phoenix is Seattle and Portland combined. Had Phil Knight stuck with Oregon only, ok you could make an argument but Phoenix is the fastest growing city in the country which the only thing tv contracts care about. The bigoted Pac 12 conference wouldn’t include BYU. BYU is the exact reason the conference is in the bullshit shape it is in.

Your statement that PHX is the fastest growing city or metro area I knew wasn’t factual so I looked it up. PHX is growing at a fast clip but it’s not the fastest. Certainly way higher than Seattle or Portland. Not to turn this into politics but check out where the growth is.

There performance on the field to start with. You said it was all about viewership or tv market. Oregon doubles ASU in viewership. I put the chart out there cause you said Phoenix was thaw fastest growing metro area, which is not true.

Oregon doesn’t double shit. If that was the real case then Boise State would’ve been the 11th member before Colorado or Utah were invited into the former Pac 12. You posted a chart proving my point, what are you talking about, put a bunch of markers that were filled with already captured markets except for the one with the fake Seattle market.

Viewership doesn’t matter as I have explained to you. More viewers watch Oregon Ducks games but who is the much more attractive team in tv negotiations, Rutgers or Oregon? Phoenix is the only market west of Texas that is worth a nickel right now.

Never said ASU was but I guaranteed Arizona State will be in the B1G before Oregon or Washington. The Seattle market is split between three schools, Portland is by 3. Cal doesn’t have fan base nor do they have administration that cares about sports. Stanford has zero fan base but they are public and a rival of Notre Dame. If Fox can negotiate with NBCUniversal add Stanford and Notre Dame to the package and the tv deal would easily the most money a conference could get
