Agrees to part ways? He agrees not to ask for a contract extension is what it is. Now, who is going to be foolish enough to take the gig.

So glad Larry Scott is out. Hopefully the conference won't fuck up the next hire and will get someone who knows what the hell they're doing.

Some of the things he tried to do were good, he just didn't know how to accomplish them and he wasted a metric shit ton of money.

We all know it was long overdue. Hopefully they learn not to make crazy big/long contract offers to the next one that forces them to stay years longer than warranted. If nothing else, learn from that completely stupid mistake.

The Alabama AD seems to be the favorite right now. Whoever comes in needs to realize we will never get the fan or alumnus support of SEC but a lot our alumnus are influential people in tech companies up and down the west coast. Apple Airplay is on every tv in the country, Amazon Prime is on every tv in the country. But the first thing I would do is create a sponsored kickoff classic in LA and Vegas for “neutral” site games against top opponents. Make a deal with the Big 12 and ACC for OOC and thirdly bring back Rick Neuhisel in the number 1 spot of the broadcast of a college game day type show and add Nick Allioti for the Corso role. If you act big enough then eventually you fool people into thinking you are big. Perception is the number 1 goal of the next commissioner.

The issues with the Pac isn't about the fans or alum, it's about the vastly different priorities of several of the schools. The ones that are dedicated to going all in on football do not seem to be able to overpower the ones that don't care as much recently.

Anyone coming in will have to know they won't have the same support as most of the other conferences.

Oregon hires California DC Tim DeRuyter to be their DC.

I think he's a good X's and O's guy but he's not known as a great recruiter. I think Oregon needs to do more to bring elite recruiters on the defensive end to their staff.

Getting rid of Scott is the best thing that has happened to the Pac-12 since the last time they won a national championship in football or basketball. Even one of the old Western Athletic Conference's former commissioners could have done a better job than loose-screw Larry.

But that is apart of his/her job. Just like an AD’s job is to try to get all of the alumnus (essentially their boss) to go in the same direction. If the new commissioner can’t get certain schools on board with the football vision then their are ways the schools enough to wear the few fans they have, players or coaches complain loud enough to where the President or Chancellor has to act.

ASU hired Chris Claiborne to be the new LB coach as Antonio Pierce moves to full time DC and Marvin Lewis resumes an "analyst" type position. The mix of NFL experience and young recruiters is getting pretty strong at ASU.

I suspect the 2022 class will be a good one, especially if ASU runs out the team I think they will. I think we're a top 10 team next year and I'd bet the recruiting rankings will reflect the same.

He was the head coach at Calabasas, right?
