Good read. Sort of hints at the issues ASU has had with Arizona at the gov/board level over the years. I suspect some of ASU's indicated initial reluctance was due to old conflicts with U of A. Arizona certainly was considered the better academic school in the state, especially back then, but a large portion of that was internal sabotage and some territorialism. Arizona tried to prevent ASU from becoming a university and blocked an ASU medical school.
