Havent posted in over a month. I thought about this guy the other day and about how horrible this contract was for the Sox. Please sign with SF. Two places I like to see fail sports wise..

Not sure what you mean by "please sign with SF".

As I type this, literally... Pablo Sandoval is playing 3rd base for the San Francisco Giants, and due to lead-off the next inning.

Do you fucking people understand english? Holy shit, lol. Why is this like pulling teeth?

The guy said "I hope Pablo signs with SF"... as if he wasn't already playing for them. I was just curious to what he meant, if he actually didn't know.

Did you not know Pablo Sandoval was traded to SF Giants before the deadline?

You said he was traded to the Giants...

Who did the Sox receive in that "trade"?

So, you're dragging this on over a typo/semantics? Sweet, thanks for wasting my time. Go fuck your mother.

Not semantics. A trade vs a trash heap pick up are two entirely different things.

A trade implies that the Giants gave something up, or that they have anything to do with that albatross contract. They don't have any liabilities when it comes to Sandoval. His entire salary that he earns from the Giants for the duration of the contract will go into the Giants main local charity. That will end up being approx 500K per year.

Exactly... it amounts to semantics. lol.

It was pretty clearly just an accident. Calm your boner.

I guess it is semantics. Kinda like saying the Astros won the Series in '05. Just semantics.

He recruited Sandoval. And HanRam, I think...

Once they got HanRam they didn't need Sandoval.

Hanley's shoulders would be healthy enough to play 3B had he not been forced into the OF.

While it's not quite as bad, Hanley's contract hasn't been all that great either. He was just awful in 2015 between the shoulder injury and outfield experiment (hit a career worst 88 wRC+ and was worth nearly 2 wins below replacement) and he currently has a 99 wRC+ as a DH this year. He was a solid contributor last year (128 wRC+) and played a pivotal role in the Red Sox winning the division (146 wRC+ in 2nd half). Per Fangraphs, he's been worth 0.8 WAR over the duration of the contract so far.

would have been much better off just sticking him there. Oh well.

9 HRs. 500k per year.
Solid D at 3rd and 1st in a back up role. 500k per year.
Maturing to the point of becoming a clubhouse leader. 500k per year.

Laughing at the Red Sox as they pay the guy about 20M per year? Priceless.
