Just realized @steveringo posted in this thread. That's a name from way back, I think he was on the old ESPN boards. Wonder if he still comes around here.

He stops by every now and then and makes a bleeding heart thread in the PFs.
Well that sucks, I always enjoyed chatting with him. I think he was from Connecticut, but the good side.

Hindsight 20/20 it was a bad signing, but shit, you can't blame the Red Sox for giving a contract like that to a 27-28 year old who had a career .811 OPS. It didn't work out and it looks absurd now, but back then it made sense.

Not to Giants fans. We had seen where his priorities were, and while they WERE at the plate, it was wasn't home plate.

I'd rather have Headley.

2015-17:
Headley: .255/.330/.374, 92 wRC+, 5.1 WAR (Fangraphs)
Sandoval: .237/.286/.360, 70 wRC+, -2.6 WAR (Fangraphs)

Though most Yankees fans aren't pleased with Headley, at least he's been a serviceable 3B in NY.

(this is nava btw, I can't get into my old account.)

That .811 OPS had been reached once by Pablo in the previous 5 seasons. He was showing obvious signs of decline in his mid-late 20s.

There's a local radio host that loved to make a similar joke. He needs plate discipline on and off the field.

Total friggin' bullshit. Why don't they just shut down the park for the rest of the season?! Lost the attendance record the other night. This season is in the shitter, so WTF? Ugh.

After puting up a slash line of .207/.324/.345/.669 with 1 HR in 37 PAs with AAA Sacramento, the Giants had no choice but to add him to the SF Giants MLB roster.

I think this proves to everyone that this was not just a marketing ploy and that the org was serious when they said that Sandoval would have to earn his way back to the majors.

Yep, I remember him well from ESPN. I think JR_Hart and Seels had accounts on here too. I know Seels posts on SoSH. CursedClevelander posted on that other board (I think it was called The Fanatic or some crap), but I haven't seen him since. Sucks, I miss the MLB General crew. Even TrueNiners capitalizing every other word (NOW can you SEE it???).

Havent posted in over a month. I thought about this guy the other day and about how horrible this contract was for the Sox. Please sign with SF. Two places I like to see fail sports wise..
