I guess. It's all about growth. Florida's population explosion happened first. So, alumni made shitloads of money and it comes back to the school. It was a decade later that TN, Atlanta and the Carolinas started filling-up with Yankees. So, gradually the schools have a bigger population to find smarter students, the alumni are richer and the state taxes are way up. It doesn't take long for that to be reflected in the status of Southeastern universities.
I can't find it now - but once I started a trolling thread called something like "The Big 10 is dying because of socialism," arguing the money and peeps are moving south and that would be reflected in football, too.
That's a ridiculous premise about CFB, because Alabama and Louisiana don't have people or money. lol But it was great because the B1G fans became rather rustled. Still, I think the premise is probably true for academics and the health of universities.
That's awesome, wish I had been around for that debate. I probably would have been one of those rustled, lol, but still would have been a good debate to hash out.
