You know you called me a liberal you lying pussy.

I’m not here to hide behind any belief that WVU is pure when it comes to race unlike u and Minnesota U fuckwad.

But you understand WVU and the West Virginia state legislature are 2 different things right? Probably not.

Dude, if you need me to admit that the U of Mn is not perfect, fine, they are not perfect. I thought I made that clear in the past?

But on a scale from 1 to 10, 1 being the most vile racist pieces of shit and 10 being perfectly unracist, I'd rate UMn between 9.5 and 9.9. I'd rate WVU, knowing only how racist the state is, between 2-4. If I did some digging, that might change, but I doubt it would go above a 5 or 6. We're talking historically here, not what is going on presently. That might not bode well for you either, but just saying. You are bringing up ancient history to try to defame UMn, which is fine, facts are facts.

Thank you for stating the truth. Try explaining that to your butt buddy Fred.

He's on his own island, and you're his toy. That's why this is all amusing.

You're crazy (sorry... Duh) if you think Minnesota is going to approach michigan money.

I believe that they will close the gap. And if they continue on the upward track they are on, and Michigan continues on the track it's on, down the line, I could see UMn "approach" Michigan money. Will depend on Fleck sticking around for more than just one more season, and it will depend on Harbaugh sticking around and continuing to come up short. And it's not going to happen overnight. The new outdoor Stadium took almost a decade to make a reality. The Practice Facility took almost another decade to make a reality. And it took just over a decade to improve upon the foundation Glen Mason laid down, and the 4 years of Tim Brewster set the talent base back quite a bit.

Ahh, you're playing the long (century) game, I see.

And now when that contract is renegotiated, UMn could have a complete reversal of their record, another 11-2 season would turn the 20-42 record going into the last shoe contract, to a 44-21 record.

20-42
44-21

You can believe that won't significantly affect the UMn's shoe contract if you want, but I think it will.

Your record is going to change very little. Being a national brand is something that happens over the lifetime of a school.

Clemson won a national title and only received 3.2 million a year for their endorsement deal. Minnesota winning 11 games one year out of the B1G West isn’t changing anything.

Ahh, you're playing the long (century) game, I see.

Not sure if it will take a century. UMn WAS a national brand as recently as the 1960s, and that may have carried over into the 70s seeing as the Gopher BB program was very big during the 70s, and the hockey program was killing it, coming to a climax with the 1980 Miracle on Ice, where the whole nation saw what a bunch of Gophers could do. And UMn did beat a #1 ranked Michigan 16-0 in 1977, too. And the NFL was full of former Gophers dominating. I believe there were 4 former Gophers that made the All-Pro team a couple years in a row in the 70s. And UMn also made the CWS finishing 3rd in 1973 as well.

That is basketball, football, hockey and baseball.

What changed? Well, Brooks left for the NHL, football was de-emphasized, bb had a scandal and the NCAA was just starting to show favor towards southern schools making it almost impossible for northern schools to compete. Gophers moved into the god awful Metrodome for football.

What has changed recently? Moved back outdoors with the fairly new football stadium, got the new Practice Facility, so the admin no longer is de-emphasizing football, it's doing the opposite now. And then of course they got Fleck to come onboard. The bb program has recovered from it's scandals as well, and other sports are excelling as well, as is the school's rankings. The reputation it gained as a commuter school back in the 70s and 80s has been addressed and basically fixed, and I think UMn is getting better at figuring out it needs to advertise and promote itself to develop that national brand. Their efforts to restore the football program shows that they understand this.

It only took one decade, if that, to de-emphasize football, it may not take more than a decade to restore it now that Fleck has arrived. So that gives UMn another 7 years give or take a few.

I believe schools will come after Fleck, and UMn will respond by giving him a nice fat raise, and in response, he'll stay.

Minnesota is going to have the biggest endorsement deal of any B1G team in 2150.
I’m sure sarcastaball will be huge then. Football will have died decades earlier.

Calling him out for his nonsense isn’t being someone’s toy. It’s showing how much of a jackass he is.

Can you be more specific? Is UMn NOT yet a destination school, iyo, in football only, or all sports?
Not quite yet.

Secondary sports are irrelevant, excpet for women's hockey and maybe volleyball - but those ladies are thinking post-grad opportunities, not pro sports and endorsements.

With the advent of B1G in hockey, MN lost some of it's appeal there, as they lost the old rivalries of the WCHA. Look at how fast PSU has become relevant from a non-existent program.

Until he stops the outflow of in state talent, they will continue to lag behind tOSU and Michigan, and even Wisconsin, Iowa and MSU. He needs to do to for the U, what the Badgers were able to do in Wisconsin. You gotta learn to crawl before you can walk; and, you gotta walk before you can run.

That said, Fleck is a midwest guy. The only school west of here that he might consider, would be Stanford... and that's it. Otherwise, SEC or ACC would be his next possible landing spot.

Who knows... maybe people will see what he has (along with his staff) been able to do with some of the skill positions and take notice. Morgan, Bateman, et al... kids notice that stuff... but he needs to get some 4 and 5 stars, not just 3s, and keep Minnesota kids at home.

@PnkPanther might have a different take...

How are we on page 33 and how did a thread started by nebraska fan to troll michigan fans turn into a deranged MN fan arguing with a WV fan

Michigan is just one major scandal away from losing their national brand. Another Fab Five kind of thing maybe? Maybe a PSU/Paterno/Pedoph1le kind of thing maybe?

But otherwise, yes, change does not happen overnight.

As for Clemson? Clemson was NEVER a blue blood, not in football, or basketball. It's half the size of UMn. It is not highly rated as an academic institution or a research university, either.

UMn's endowment is 4-5 times bigger than Clemson's.

Dabo's first title was only Clemson's 2nd, EVER.

This is the problem though. You are digging up racism to win an argument for your school being a destination school. An argument you already lost.

Says the fan of Senator Byrd.

Never said I was a fan. He did however his job of bring funding back to his district. Regardless of if he was a racist POS or not. People in WV liked him for bringing pork back.
