Hit his 8th HR of the season. The small sample size last season he looked for real. It seems to be still going this season.
Are we looking at an early season flame out or the next star?
Acuna gets all the notice in Atlanta but he seems to be a much better player.

Ozzie has had a nice start, but dampen the brakes on looks to be better than Acuna.

Acuna just went 3-4 in his second ever game including an upper deck home run and the go ahead RBI double. Both look to be special players, but Acuna is only 2 games in and has been impressive.

But as a side note, Albies has set the franchise(not just Atlanta) record for most extra base hits in April.

I got to see Albies play in Gwinnett last year prior to the call up. He just seems comfortable out there even at a young age.

I missed out on seeing Acuna last year (was there before his call up to AAA) and then this season in a Strippers (ahh Stripers) uni.

Yeah that was a monster of a HR, truly wasn't thinking Albies would be better just putting that out there from an overall perspective with the offense and defense.

the mlb record is 23 so quite doable with the way he is hitting and 3 games vs the phils:suds:

Albies can pick it with the glove for sure. They say Acuna is an excellent defender too, but playing second is harder than left field.

I'll be happy if Acuna can hit well enough to be put in the cleanup spot and give Freeman someone other than Nick Markakis hitting behind him. If Acuna can have a big rookie year, I think Freeman can have a monster year with some real protection.

And that's not a dig at Markakis. He does what he's asked to do, and if there's a runner on third with one out, there's nobody on the team that I'd rather have at the plate to get that run in. He's had a nice career and he still helps the team, but he's a singles hitter and there's not a pitcher in the game that fears him.

And also, make no mistake. The young guns in the lineup look good, and that includes Dansby Swanson as well, but Freddie Freeman is still by far the biggest offensive weapon on this team.

Yeah that is scary if he becomes real protection for Freeman. I don't see any reason why any team will pitch to Freeman. Also currently that hurts the players in front like Albies and Inciarte, no need to hit and run or steal since they know most likely they will be moved over on a Freeman walk.

That is true. Freeman is the best player right now on that team and he needs hitters around him. Now if the young starters and a bullpen arrive the Braves will be very good soon enough.

For the most part the starters have kept us in the games, but the bullpen sucks. Minter has games where he looks like a left handed version of Craig Kimbrel, and then he has games where he can't throw a strike, but at the same time, he's been our brightest spot in the pen, and that's saying something.(Shane Carle has been excellent in long relief and stranding inherited runners, but he's not an end of the game arm)

^Sadly none of them get to hit against the Pirates bullpen.

He's quite the player. That Braves lineup is getting better by the day. Going to be a fun team to watch as time goes on.

Not trying to denigate the kid's talent but going into Cincy and facing that rat-shit pitching staff is going to balloon everyone's numbers. You can't make a case for anything against a team that has won 1 game out of every 5.

He was tearing the NL apart before the Reds series. He was hitting .302/.348/.640 with 6 home runs prior to the Reds series.

Fell just shy of the record.

Had a homer and a double today to give him 22 extra base hits in April.

23 is Jermaine Dye's record.
