Your plan is great don't get me wrong. The only reason I feel RB and QB are an immediate need is because Romo nor Mc fadden can be trusted to stay healthy. Yeah anyone can get hurt cause this is the NFL, but certain guys Are almost expected to get hurt. I want a 1st round qb because you have a better chance in landing that franchise guy. I perfectly fine with him sitting for 2 years. To each their own, of course. But if I may provide my reasoning...
1) I understand the want to get a QB in the 1st, but Romo is going to be here for a little while longer. We can draft a guy to develop instead, and I think Brissett could be someone with great potential - he played very well against top competition in the ACC.
2) RB is a need, I agree. I don't think it's such a huge need that we need to go out and sign someone, ala Matt Forte'. Darren McFadden played really well this year once he got his legs under him - I think he deserves another shot at starting next year. Robert Turbin has shown some flashes, Dunbar will be back, and in my scenario I have us drafting a RB in the 4th. I think we would have RB covered.
3) Definitely agree, Dwayne Allen is someone I really want, and Either Sanu or Randle would fit well opposite Dez.
4) Cutting CHurch over Wilcox is about saving money. They both provide similar skill sets, and in my scenario both will be on the bench.
5) Yup. I would consider re-signing Claiborne if it were very cheap, we will still need depth. Mo hasn't been terrible this year. And would be fine as a 3rd or 4th CB, if payed appropriately.
6) Weddle wouldn't break the bank, but would probably be pretty pricey. Dallas has the money, though. Pair Weddle and Jones at the Safety positions and I think that would be a terrific duo to back up a solid set of CB's in Scandrick and Hargreaves.
I'd be pissed if we put that much cap $s into WRok we will sign Alshon Jeffrey, have a 1A and 1B in Dez and Alshon. Its fun to dream!
So do we see Williams as a 3?

I'll take a stab at overhauling the Cowboys...
It seems to me with the expiring contracts and a few cuts Dallas could have quite a bit of money to spend in Free Agency this year. Probably to the point the Cowboys could be players for anyone willing to come to Dallas.
1. Do not resign DE Greg Hardy - in my eyes, he clearly had a detrimental effect on team chemistry
2. Let CB Mo Claiborne walk - experiment over
3. Do not resign MLB Ro McClain - too unreliable, concussions starting to mount
3. Cut CB Brandon Carr
4. Cut SS Barry Church
5. Sign NT Damon Harrison - much needed run stuffing DT
6. Sign SS Eric Weddle - Sounds like he is leaving San Diego
7. Sign TE Dwayne Allen - shouldn't be too expensive
8. Look at signing a Muhammad Sanu, or Rueben Randle type - if money is available after first 3 signings
9. Re-sign DE Jeremy Mincey - Cheap depth, and seems like a good guy to have around the young players
10. Target the following players in the draft:
....1) FLA CB Vernon Hargreaves, FSU CB Jalen Ramsey
....2) ALA MLB Reggie Ragland, FLA MLB Jarrad Davis
....3) N.C.S QB Jacoby Brissett, N.D.S QB Carson Wentz
....4) LTU RB Kenneth Dixon, ILL RB Josh Ferguson
....5) GTU CB D.J. White, MINN CB Briean Boddy-Calhoun
....6) B.P.A.
....7) B.P.A.
11. Convert Byron Jones to FS full time, and don't look back
12. Fill in remaining roster space with depth as needed
With a loss this weekend and a top 2-5 draft pick, I don't see why any of this couldn't happen.
I am fine with Williams because he and romo were starting to click more often. He never seemed to develop that with the other guys at qb but that is somewhat understandable considering the timeframe they worked together. I am good with a drafted qb sitting behind romo because you're right he will probably miss games going forward. And this might be the best draft position we have without having to trade up to get there. I agree with drafting a wr as well.So do we see Williams as a 3?
I don't think his scenario is likely or necessarily what is best for the team as a whole, but a secondary of Scandrick and 1st rounder at CB and Weddle and jones at safety is so far from yikes IMO. It looks miles better than what we have seen over the last few years. swapping out Carr and Mo for Scandrick and #5 pick and Church and Wilcox for Weddle and Jones sounds bad?bold and moves that need to be made, but that looks like rookies starting at CB with a new SS and a 2nd year FS. yikes.
Flashes?? He stinks and has too many issues. Take the NY brain back to the Giants board and worry about themIn a heartbeat.......Manziel is definitely showing flashes that if you could surround him with some talent, there may be something to work with.......The Browns skill position players have to be as bad as any in the league

Is it likely? Probably not, and there are certainly better scenarios out there, but I tried to keep it as realistic as possible. I could see each and every one of these moves happening in reality - the likeliness of them all happening is certainly very slim. Eric Weddle is obviously the biggest get, but even he isn't going to command mega dollars - I'm thinking somewhere in the neighborhood of McCourty's deal.
In my scenario, we are still relying on Romo to a great degree, praying that RunDMC stays healthy, and really counting on Gregory to be a factor next year. But if these things happen, and Dallas makes the acquisitions I outlined, that could be a very good team next year. Health is always the key. Without Romo I don't see this team going anywhere next year anyway - just the reality of it. This off-season plan puts a potentially high quality team on the field next year, and doesn't mortgage the future in any way, while still bringing in plenty of young talent at key positions of need.
Hey, we agree on something, I'm a huge Prescott fan. I think you'd have to hand hon a clipboard for a couple of years, but if you got him in the middle rounds, I'd take a shot on himWell Lynch looked bad. Brissett and Prescott playing now in a down pour. I'm a Dak fan.
I think the Cowboys were on to something a couple of years ago bringing in several low priced veteran contributors. Keep finding guys that bring something to the table and drafting well early, and we'll be alrightI'd be pissed if we put that much cap $s into WR

Goff's arm strength is better now than it was a couple of years ago, still needs a little more, but he's a big kid, so that could come. 6'2'' is plenty for Dak. From a skill level, character and intangibles, he's a lot like Russell WilsonI've always liked Dak. He is only 6'2. He is a heck of a leader though. Possibly the best player to ever play for Miss.St. The scouts say he needs to improve his accuracy. He seems to have a cannon with a small hitch, nothing like Leftwich or even Bridgewater- meaning the hitch. Heck besides size, I can't see a difference in a lot of these guys. Lynch seemed like another Mallett. Goff looked awesome in the 3 games I saw him play, but the scouts say he lacks the great arm???? Hell he made every throw possible yesterday. I was real impressed with the WKU guy
