What about outbreaks for teams fully vaccinated? The Delta variant is a different strain that the vaccinations weren't prepared for. As to the guys refusing the vax, I don't get that at all. I didn't feel I needed it and don't really believe in them but I still got the thing just to prevent travel hassles. But that's a whole different conversation.
As to the over/under, I doubt there will be any forfeits so over, I guess. Made it through last season, they will get through this one, methinks. Cheers fellas.
I'm in the same boat. I don't think i needed the vaccine, but my wife is high risk, and we travel yearly.

Not being a smart ass but that’s not exactly confident at least not betting wise but then again I don’t bet but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last month.
How isn't that confident? That is SUPREME confidence. When do you ever make a bet in your life where you have 100% assurance?

There's always SOME risk in any bet worth making. If there isn't - no one is taking the other side. Not another person, a sports book, etc.

If I bet on an NFL team to win a game against a team that they'll beat 9x out of 10. That's one helluva confident bet.

This is saying that MAYBE... there's a slim/off chance that there will be one or two games out of HUNDREDS which will have some freak incident and forfeit. However, if I'm laying money on no forfeits? Yes, I am confident as all living hell.

I would say there is a 5% or less chance or so that we see a forfeit. Please, show me a sports bet or a bet in a casino where you felt you would win 95% of the time and didn't feel "confident".

I don’t see a problem with vaccination on a global scale, would not be the first time. If you grow a tail or bull ears, just cut them off and get on with it.

what taking one option and hedging it with two others isnt confidence?

Right before kickoff, I knew Tampa Bay would win the Super Bowl. If not, I was sure it was going to be the Chiefs.

The NFLPA agreed to to the new forfeit plan.

They didn't want to have to take a strike vote . Here's why.......the guys who've been vaccinated aren't going to be sympathetic to the guys who aren't.

The owners have been having phone conferences and they've been discussing suspending players without pay who have not and will not be vaccinated. Not much the NFLPA can do about it because it's a public health risk. You don't want the vaccination? You can't expose everyone else including the 75,000 fans in the seats to a potentially deadly disease.

Owners are also considering showing proof of vaccination before allowing fans to enter the stadiums.

One other thing about the games that are rescheduled. The team without the Covid problem cannot be forced to play a shortened week. The reschedule in the past forces both teams to play during the Covid team's bye week. That ain't happening this year. The Covid team has to play during the other team's bye week.

One final note. The season will not be expanded to fit in rescheduled games.

Roughly, 85% of the entire league, players and staff have been vaccinated. Remember, these guys are healthy young men and don't have have serious medical conditions like @Debbie Does and @BigKen. If I was playing, I'd be saying, "Fuck the unvaccinated. I don't want them bringing shit into the shower where I'm totally exposed. Suspend their asses."

There are 13 teams at 85 percent
There are 4 teams less than 50 percent

What happens if a team can't play due to an outbreak among vaccinated players? This ruling only speaks of a breakout of unvaccinated players but makes no mention of what would happen if there was a breakout among vaccinated players. NFL setting itself up for controversy if/when that happens.

This is the type of hysteria that is completely unbased on any sort of scientific reasoning. Fans in the stands, especially at outdoor venues are at no risk whatsoever of getting covid from players on the field.

It's called coercion.
NFL does not want to lose any more money when it can be prevented by players getting vaccinated.
Shifts the burden to the players to coerce the other plays.
