I'm amused that you and I are opposites in 9 of 10 areas, but our score is only 4 points off total. :suds:

So, basically, every negative positive outcome possible.

I think I see… we have the new lead pessimist on the board! :suds:

I was thinking about this game on the way home from work. Both Marshall and Jeffery are questionable, but the reality is that Jeffery isn't going to play and Marshall will be a game time decision.

I'd like to change my score prediction to SF 33 Bears 10

Marshall said he's going to play in his presser yesterday, and Jeffery practiced today.

They'll both play, IMO.

Jeffery was only held out as a precaution last week, and they said he could have finished if the coaching staff wanted.

My bad. I'm starting to sound like a troll....

I think I am more emotionally preparing myself for a potential doomsday scenario.

I just remembered how impressive the 49'ers were the last time the Bears played them.....and that was against a much more fundamentally sound Lovie defense which San Fran humiliated. It was like someone playing chess against someone playing checkers.

I don't have any confidence in this D at this point. Zero. The good thing is the season is long and players change over the course of a season, light bulbs go off, and I love it when I am proven wrong time and time again. But we need quite a few light bulbs go off.

As for tomorrow night. I definitely agree with you. SF's zone read could be a nightmare for this D.

However, I would keep in mind that that game two years ago was the first time anyone in the entire league saw SF employ that offensive scheme in Kaep's first career start. They had zero way of game planning for it, and really had no idea what to expect. I realize the D is obviously worse this time around, but I would keep that in mind.

SF has a lot of holes on defense that this offense can exploit as well, as long as Jeffery/Marshall play. Their corners are dinged up, and very undersized. The secondary in general is very undersized. I expect the offense to bounce back, and this could mean big days for Marshall, Jeffery, and Bennett. They're also missing a few guys up front, mainly Smith and Bowman. Forte looked great last week, and I believe Trestman will get back to running the ball more this week too. Since keeping the ball out of SF's hands as much as possible, may be the only hope of winning this game. If Forte can run the ball well, I expect this offense could put up a lot of points.

That Dallas game last week was a bit deceiving as well. SF had a short field every time they scored due to turnovers. Romo threw the ball directly to defenders on multiple occasions, and Murray put the ball on the ground without being touched the first series of the game. And it was picked up and returned for a TD.

I'm not saying it'll be a super fun game to watch for us fans, but I do believe we'll play them tough.

Beyond this, next week in NY is a must win if this season is going to be interesting at all. I can't believe we're already in this position. Jesus. I guess that's how it goes some years.
