Lane has return experience and was drafted this year. I'm not saying Luke will be cut because he won't however, being drafted in round 3 will make him a bust if he cannot over take the #2 wide out position. Luke provided no fear factor when lined up at WR.
I like to give 3rd round picks 3 yrs to see if they can start ( more year 2 into 3 )

Not many 3rd round picks are going to give you a “ fear factor “ . There are exceptions but generally you get a solid starter in round 3 after some grooming

I dont think Luke beats out Samuel. If he cant be a WR3 then that would be a bust.

There's always competition for jobs in the NFL. That said, Luke was and is kind of a long shot in that he is or now has converted to wideout. He clearly has something to offer, but it could be his lack of experience relative to guys who have been doing it their whole careers, that puts him in this precarious position. I'm not sure if he makes it or not but if they cut him I would not consider him a bust despite the third round selection. He just turned 24 in April, and as expected for someone with as little experience as he, more time working on his craft could benefit him.

we will see in TC and in the preseason . drafting a project in round 3 is a reach in my opinion but hopefully it will work out

Exactly!! We all knew this was a hopeful considering his history and family background, and it is because of that, I cannot see him as a bust, if they part with him.

I will say Luke and Ben looked the part in pre season. Both silky smooth. I think they take big steps forward this year.
Im more concerned about Sinnot developing because Ertz can't keep turning back the clock forever

Sinnot was a huge reach as well in round 2

I thought so too, but looking back at rounds 2 thru 4, you have the OT Kingsly with KC and Bucky Irving with Tampa. Those and payton wilson are probably the only guys that might have been better picks. And if Sinnot turns into Ertz 2.0 then it was actually a great pick.
TE misses happen, i remember really really wanting Kincaid.
