Congrats to Spain, you had the flopping game in peak condition during extra time.

US D looks like, well, US D. Can be solid at times, but when they aren't, it is UGLY!

true that.. really should be 4-5 now for brazil.. 2 posts and a few other solid opportunities.. this neymar character for brazil is ridiculous.. how was he not on their world cup team?

don't know, but he should have...

What's your opinion on Bob Bradley? Should he come back or would you prefer if we got Jurgen Klinsmann?

i dno.. i'm kinda torn.. i think the team made good progress with bradley at the helm.. but even though they advanced in the world cup, i really think they should've had some better scores moving forward.. and they should've beaten ghana too.. i have a hard time blaming him for any of that though, we haven't had a reliable goal scorer up top for as long as i can remember.. i was hoping to see buddle more in the WC, thought he would've brought more spark

Was at this game, 50 bucks for the ticket, 25 for parking, but more importantly I wasted 2 1/2 hours of my life. I need hockey season to start.

I'm torn as well, I mean, he's done well in getting them to the Confed. cup finals, but many people forget, they went 2-3 in that tournament. I don't blame him much with the group play, but he made the mistake in starting Clark and having to sub him early after he made that horrid TO that led to the first Ghana goal. I like him, but, I just don't know. Good could come from change, but we should know pretty soon whats going on.

would be funny if it weren't so sad. Any idea what our peak ranking was?
I seem to recall not long ago we were in the low 60's anyway.

edit with wiki knowledge:
highest rank: 40 (Dec 1996)
lowest rank: 103 (March 2007) --- so far.

I wanted to comment on that non foul from last nights game when Donovan got clear of the D and got bumped off the ball. He attempted to get a shot off, but a defender took the ball right before he was able to. Had he gone down he would have gotten a PK more than likely, but since he didn't go down like he got shot and attempted to get off a shot, there was no PK. With all the complaining from fans about diving, a play such as that, a guy getting fouled but still trying to play, should get rewarded more often than the Cristiano Ronaldo's of the world.

/of rant

France comes down hard on World Cup malcontents

United they stood, united they fall.

really Anelka is the only one they crucified. 18 games likely spells the end for him internationally.
the others (5, 3, 1 game suspensions) will most likely be served mostly in friendlies.
looks like one qualifier in Sept vs Belarus will be affected.

Agreed, but unless the refs change, diving to draw a call will continue to be commonplace.
