The properties were sold by Shato Holdings Ltd which was founded by Peter Toigo and now run by his sons Peter and Ron Toigo. In 1982, Shato purchased White Spot restaurants. The Toigo family also owns the Vancouver Giants Western Junior hockey team.

That location is still open too ... sale/leaseback probably ... not sure the property tax consequences of that

/global had a segment a week or two ago and they showed giants players working as servers/bus boys at pat quinns at tsawwassen springs golf course. I wonder if toigos actually paying them lol

also drove by cambie/23th, with the last fire - middle of the block basically razed
given it was a restaurant with massive grease traps where it started, I wonder how good their insurance coverage was. nudge nudge wink wink saynomore
