I do not know a lot about comedian Doug Stanhope but I heard him plug a book about his mother's death who had a really dark sense of humor. It was actually an assisted suicide by taking a bunch of pills and Doug and a friend were drinking with her when she decided 'now is the time". So she takes her pills and and soon is going in and out of consciousness. One of the times she wakes up they start yelling "mom wake up, they just found a cure!". He said she laughed before drifting off again.
