Pretty good, kid. Try to keep your back more upright as you cross the crease and start with your heels, hips and shoulders in a vertical line.

Frozen urine seems to make a good ice surface.

I was kinda disappointed when my son told me at 5 he didnt want to "join hockey"
we had him in skating classes since 3 and he knows how to skate ... we also put him into a "intro to fun hockey" session at 8 rinks that he liked but for some reason he didnt want to join a league :noidea:
i got over it these past couple of years ... mostly thanks to hearing the stories of the costs and ice times involved from my friends with kids here in burnaby

then to my amazement over christmas, at 7 and a half, my son announces to us "I wanna play dad ... badly"

great news !!!

its too late for a league so we go to enroll him in the second 8 rinks session "ready to play in the big little league" ... of course its full

so my wife hears of this ... how excellent is this ???

The First Shift

$199 and you get all the equipment ... hes enrolled for March 2015

thanks to bauer & hockey canada :thumb:

I'm pretty amazed that some friends of mine in this area have a 7 year old and a 5 (him with a walker type thing) year old and they are playing hockey already. I do have to chuckle that they are wearing the old Atlanta Thrashers uniforms.

Awesome!

The Jackets have a similar thing here, I think it's 250 for everything and 15 classes. And the Jackets have been known to cover the costs for families that can't do it. They do it as loaner gear, and if you return it, you get some or most money back. They charge you the full amount if you decide to keep it. That's how my son got started. And it was similar, he loved the classes, but not interested in joining a team at first.

I suggest you sign up to coach (or "herd cats" as some other coaches say). I was surprised at how much fun it is with kids that age. I coached goalies for a while for my cousins' teams, but the youngest I dealt with were 11-12. Little kids are freaking hilarious.

God Damn I love Huskies.

There's a lady at the local dog park who has a Huskie/German Shepard Mix. The most beatuiful dog I have ever seen.

Huskie mixes are...oh they're just the prettiest.

Husky-Golden mixes especially, although they vary so much.
