I teach a college class, mostly freshman. We have weekly quizzes, and I try to depress myself weekly by asking extra credit questions that I feel young people should know. For example, this week it was "name the lineup from Abbott and Costello's 'Who's on First'." Three people answered, getting Who, What, and I Don't Know. Three of twenty-seven. Very sobering.

I use Jeopardy! as a final exam review activity. My students didn't know the rules to Jeopardy! One of them explained to me that "it's a different generation."

1) That made me feel old.
2) Jeopardy! transcends generations, darn it!
