OT: The Walking Dead - BEWARE OF SPOILERS

I know he did, but it didn't make sense. He hung himself (takes a few seconds) and in that tiny span of time walkers happened to show up in the middle of the woods? It's just sloppy writing.

I guess what I want is for this show to be better, but it's just an okay, entertaining show at the end of the day.

how I understood it.

He got bit by a zombie. started to turn (fever hit), and that's when he offed himself.
would rather be dead than be turned, but didn't off himself enough, as it were.
His legs were eaten as he was hanging there, but it doesn't much matter if it was before or after he had fully turned. it was meat.

Actually if you listen to Merril's brother (I cannot remember his name). He is explaining to Andrea that the guy messed up and did not hang himself right taking himself a while to die.

When you are normally hung, it breaks your kneck and you die quickly. This didn't happen to him.

Its been years since I read the beginning of the comics with the rules and I cannot remember if the show exactly explained the rules but I got this from the Walking Dead Wiki:

everyone who dies, for any reason, will re-animate as a zombie. Even someone killed by a gunshot wound with no zombies involved at all will re-animate as a zombie. Zombie bites are not how the "infection" is spread, instead, zombie bites and zombie saliva cause infections that are 100% lethal. Characters have speculated, but cannot confirm, that what ever causes zombies to re-animate is some sort of virus that everyone in the world is technically infected with but is only triggered by death.

It is known, however, that upon death, it can take anytime between eight minutes and eight hours for the corpse to reanimate.

The show hasn't stated yet whether that rule applies. That is the rule for Romero movies however. There are a lot of dead bodies that haven't been reanimated as you noticed.

i agree with this. Romero always had a question mark on if you die normally do you turn with no bite/scratch/saliva etc. he answered that in Land of the Dead where a guy hung himself (alluding to NO zombie influence) and turned.

Then I need sleep or I'll never make it to work on time.
