Tonights episode made me shake my head at some of Rick's recent decisions. Both kicking Tyresse's group out and not picking up the backpacker. So during the big pow wow Ricks entourage is Daryl, which makes sense, and a one legged old man. Sounds secure. I understand they probably couldn't send Merle, Maggie, or Glenn or things would have escalated. Sure could use a few more able bodied choices.

I think the priority was to make sure that the group back at the prison remained big enough to be relatively safe.

but I agree with you about Tyrese and the backpacker.

In the preview for next week's episode, they did suggest that Tyrese might help Andrea at Woodbury.

Rick didn't know this, but the two other guys in Tyrese's group revealed themselves to be bad people, so maybe it's best that they left when they did. I have a feeling that Tyrese and the woman will eventually join up with Rick's group, while the two other guys will fully join up with the Governor.

I am only going by the teasers at the end of the ep and during Talking Dead, but it kinda looked like Andrea confided ion Tyrese, then Tyrese spoke with Gov', with Gov' thanking Tyrese for the info.

I watch enough shows to know to NEVER trust teasers at full face value, and I am 100% confidant that Tyrese will eventually end up with Team Rick, but we do not know when that will happen or what path he will take to get there.

As for other "defections"...

Milton may end up Team Rick, but I think he sacrafices himself to save Andrea or Michone instead.

Martinez is too loyal to Gov' to defect. He is a top Lt., after all. He is not a "bad guy", he is just on the wrong team.

Not sure of her name, but the mother of the asthmatic kid. When a red-shirt has lines in multiple eps, you have to keep an eye on them for SOMETHING to happen later on.

I do not think Andrea makes it through the season. They have not killed a major character since T-Dogg and Laurie in the same ep (sorry, Otto, you do not qualify) and she is the only one that CAN be killed at this point.

Darryl referred to shane being the dad in the first episode when he was on the bus with carol. Carol said I brought you something to eat, If I didnt you wouldn't eat. Then Darryl said. Yeah Lil Shane has some appetite.

That's right! First time since she was born then. ;)

Rick needs to recruit some people he can trust. He should go back to Atlanta and recruit the nursing home gang.

Haha yeah I remember seeing that a few months ago. I think that's when I started rooting for those guys to make a comeback. Since it got deleted I wonder if that means we can assume it never happened or not. Maybe it did happen but some of the young guys got away. I'd rather they team up with Rick without the elderly baggage anyway. ;)

Had to watch them back to back, two fantastic episodes.

- Backpacker storyline was great. I think I read it differently than you guys though. On the way to town, they show how much has changed. Don't pick up the backpacker, calmly dispose of zombies, etc... but I think meeting up with Whatshisname changed Rick. I think it has reminded him of the value of humanity. On the surface, picking up the backpack on the way home looked cold, but I thought symbolically, it was meant to show that Rick had changed and would have picked up the backpacker if he was still alive.

- Awesome tension in the last episode. Great scenes between Rick and the Governor. I don't think Rick will for a second consider giving up Michonne, not after they bonded. But he has to convince the gov'nor that he's considering it, which he accomplished. The guv had a gun strapped to the table - if Rick doesn't appear to consider the deal, he's a goner. But Rick (like Daryl and the other dude) knows a battles coming - now he has time to prepare.

Really like the buildup in this season.

That's an interesting theory. That's 1 of the things I love about this show. Stuff like this can be interpreted different ways.

I just realized there are only 3 episodes left this season! Seems like the 2nd half just started. Any predictions for the remainder of the season. Obviously a few people on both sides are going to die.

I'll make a wild prediction that the Governor somehow gets to Carol and manipulates her into turning on the group. Well Rick at least and maybe Daryl and Merle too, while promising no harm to the rest of the group. Seems pretty far-fetched and probably more wishful thinking than an actual prediction but it seems like there have been a lot of seeds planted (during all 3 seasons) for this to happen. If not, she should just be killed.

I think there will be a major showdown (obviously). Rick's gang wins, but are in pretty bad shape, and Merle tries to convince Daryl that they can take over. Merle tries to kill Rick and Daryl saves his life.

Well if it follows the books; Milton in an attempt to cure the walkers uses DNA from sharks that were experimented on to cure Alzheimers and that makes the walkers a lot faster and smarter. That should be fun. Oh and Carl finds an old Monopoly game.

I think the big battle will be at the very end and it wont be evident this season who won. I wouldnt be amazed if as the battle goes on they pull back and show a huge herd of walkers approaching.

watching The Talking Dead with Laurie Holden on it reaffirms how low confidence the actress has in her character. she defends Andrea WAY too much.
