I think it's absolutely hilarious that in the same episode T-Dog dies, Oscar joins the main group. Then in the same episode Oscar dies, an alpha male black dude leads a group to the prison. I'm sure it's just coincidence but you would think they would try to avoid that type of thing.

Maybe Glen should play it safe. If anyone even partially Asian shows up Glen should take him/her out immediately.

I think they will force Daryl and Merle to have 1 of those gladiator style fights surrounded by the zombies, only this time for real and to the death.

At the end of last night's episode when they showed the teaser for the second half of the season, I'm 99% certain there was a brief clip of Daryl.

I've been predicting since season 2 that when they finally brought Merle back that Daryl would have to kill Merle somehow. We'll see how it plays out, but it looks like Daryl survives the showdown, so we'll have to see how.

I was worried about that, too. Also, the fighting off the zombie in the chair scene was pretty intense. Glenn is definitely a scrapper.

I thought the bold part was a critical moment in the character of the Governor. The show has toyed with us a little this season as to whether the Governor is an evil seed or a guy who is protecting his own as Rick might do. He seems kind and a protector at times, but scenes like the collection of jar heads make you think he must be evil. But I thought the Maggie hug last night showed him pretty clearly. He had the information he needed. I can understand using fear to get information he sees as important to his people. But then doing something so damaging to Glenn by hugging/kissing his half-dressed girlfriend was just fucked up. This gets to a larger point of the show that is starting to bother me...

Everything has become EXTREMELY conflict-oriented. Since the first season, every encounter with other humans seems to turn into a gunfight at some point and everyone is extremely aggressive. I understand that in this post-apocalyptic world there would be some of that. But with dwindling human numbers surviving, I also think that most people would be happy (hell, giddy) to come in contact with other survivors and would work together more often to help each other and maybe to rebuild society a little more.
I guess as a viewer, I keep wondering when they start to reach that point. Especially since the interpersonal relationships have been MUCH less interesting this season. They keep killing off, ruining, or marginalizing the best characters, and at some point, you lose interest in the show.

I guess I hit that point with this episode. Every episode for the last season and a half essentially boils down to this - someone is separated from the group and/or there are outsiders we are unsure of. It gets a little old and feels like I'm watching a bunch of people endlessly running around playing out the same scenario. Someone is either found, rescued, or killled, and we start the cycle all over again. The storytelling and character development gets a little lost in it.

Maybe overthinking, but I think that's by design as a bit of a social commentary about the violent nature of people. The zombies are more of a backdrop than anything else. More often than not, more people die at the hands of other people rather than by the zombies. The zombies have no free will. They're essentially animals acting only on instinct. Yet, the "higher form of life" are the ones doing the most killing.

So Rick is still bat shit crazy, which I love. The ball is Andrea's court as to who she sides with. I still have a feeling Milton winds up being on the level and helping out the prison gang. Glad they have the new group at the prison as the numbers were far to heavily in favor of Woodbury. Can't believe I'm saying it after the first 2 seasons but Carl has grown on me.

great episode. really enjoyed it. rick is losing his mind but can you blame him. he is having alot of guilt come through for so many things. wonder how far that will go.

michonne is the new carl. stay with the freaking group. at least she had lots of new face emotion this time. that fight scene vs the governor was great. she must have thought penny was held captive and the governor was a *********. (wouldnt penny smell of rot?) mind you the whole world probably does and everyone is just used to it.

daryl getting captured and merle getting found out about lying was incredibly predictable. that didnt leave me going HOLY fuck like last year with sophia. so I Didnt think it was a great cliffhanger. I dont think rick is leaving either yet. he wont leave daryl. hes going back that same night. this episode is not quite over in that area.

the governor losing his eye was great and losing penny will send him over the edge and he will be just as bat shit crazy as Rick (nice parallel) I cant believe they havent met yet 8 episodes in to season 3. so far its all michonne vs the governor.

I thought she was a survivor. but going back for petty revenge was stupid. they all could have gotten away and maybe the governor would think holy fuck these guys are bad ass. lets leave them alone. now its. they took my eye and re-killed my daughter... kill them all

carl is becoming the new leader in his own way. which will be needed as rick is going to coo coo land. I loved the way he handled that whole scene with the new group. was brilliant. love the way his character is going

ah black guys on that show. I find it silly that everytime that one comes into the group another dies. Tyrese needs to watch his back or will the girl with him balance that out finally. I think Im going to like tyrese.

maggie finally got her big girl panties on and stabbed that fucker in the throat that was nice.

andrea. dumbest fucking chick on the planet that tries so hard to be tough and pretty and fails so miserably. why do I get the thought she will be around forever. never going to die. really andrea. you come in and see michonne about to kill the governor. ok I get that is confusing to you. but you have know the governor a few days you slut and michonne has saved your life more than probably 1000 times since she rescued you at the end of season 2. but look around that fucking room. the governor has fucking heads everywhere. and is cradling a dead walker. get the fuck out... but I guess she will be instrumental in rescuing daryl and merle. and with merle I dont see his story being done not by any means redemption is coming with him. milton is a strange character. I think he hates most of what the governor is but fears him but fears losing his comfort and study more. which is why he will still stay with him. I see a gruesome walker death on him.

wolverine shane was a nice touch but the reason why he looked liked that was because the actor had a contract commitment where he couldnt lose his hair nor his beard to look like he did when he died so they had the actor that rick shot look like that so all he saw was shanes face.

fuck am I glad that one girl died in that new group he screaming was piercing and annoying.

8.5/10 for a rating for me still doesnt beat last seasons mid season finale. sophia coming out of the barn was spectacular. but this was good. glad there was some zombie goodness but better that more human conflict. makes sense that so much of it exists. everyone is making their own rules and way of life.

prison vs woodbury is on like donkey kong. very exciting.. a nice break it will be but at least its not too long. (you hear that game of thrones)

andrea - forgot this... stop stop stop trying to make her the survival type with a gun. her greatest weapon is latching on to whomever she thinks is strongest. her line I have ALOT of experience and then she misses 5 shots when she was shooting at Oscar. and Axel - Sex Fiend? do we see some solitary confinement coming? a death by carol? is beth the most useless character to exist now? also dude in the demin jacket threatened carl in the next episode preview. thats um a no no. he gonna die or get put in place by Tyrese.

Id like to see a fictional former "Real Housewife of Atlanta" join the cast next

About 1/3 of the population of the Atlanta metro area is African American though. So, in theory, 1/3 of the cast should be too...

When he was speaking with Merle(?) about what to do with the prison after they take it, he said they would nt move in because the townsfolk like Woodburry too much, so they would clear the Rick-lets out and hand the prison over to "the buyers". Sounds like a third group we will meet in season 4 or 5.

Ive learned that their previews are rarely the story plot for that episode. i get more from the actual short segments they will show the next day of the next episode.

going to be a good ending to this season. some bad shit is coming. can rick not have one good quiet day lol

Tyrese has a lot of potential. Unlike the inmates they added he seems like he'll be in it for the long haul, the Rick of his respective group. Really like the direction this show is heading. Daryl/Merle was a bit preditcable but it'll still be fun to see how they get out of this.

yeah I agree. for the preview it showed alot of smoke in the pit and daryl running around with his crossbow and Glen all pissed off that rick brings someone you cant see back to teh prison (merle) I think its easy to say they all survive this but will merle join ricks group

I thought season 2 had some growing pains going from a 6 episode season to a 13 episode season. There were definitely a few episodes that left you feeling like not a whole lot had happened. But when they finally ended the Sophia saga and through the end of the season from there, it was phenomenal.

If she doesn't get distracted by Penny and is sitting in the dark when the Guvna comes back I think she makes easy work of him. I think its partially revenge for sending the group after her, but I think its partially protecting the prison group. She figured out what happened to the National Guard group, or at least had doubts, I think she suspected that no matter what they would come after them too.

I'm curious to see what comes of the new group at the prison. There are 4 of them, 2 seem on the level, the other 2 are questionable. Hopefully they all wind up being legit, at least in the short term.
