Overall the character development in Walking Dead has got to be among the best I have ever seen. I actually was one of the ones who thought seasons 1-2 kind of dragged a bit, mainly due to the character development. Looking back, I am SOOO glad they took the time. It makes a huge difference in the show's staying power with me.

I read after S2, after they "introduced" Michone in 2.12. I am glad I read the comics because the stories are different enough to not spoil the details, which this show is REALLY good about. Also, the comics dealt with the Gov's hatred of Michone a lot better than the show did. Of course, there is no way the show could have taken that route. WAY to gnarly.

yup ... I dont regret reading at all ... plus the ways some subject matters were dealt with in the comics were far superior/jaw dropping imo , so theres that

and while the tv show is taking a similar plotline arc in general ... it gets there in slightly different ways ... so it still certainly keeps my interest

I agree. Rick has been fun to watch. I have expected him to whack that woman's husband so he could have her in the last episode.

He brought up the point of climbing the beams, but he did not say anything about the supports not assisting in preventing walkers from pushing the wall down (a major issue they had at the prison).

Sure if walkers were the only threat then the wall, as constructed, does the job

But walkers arent the major issue

As rick says... "People are the real threat now"

I'll be surprised if Jesse's husband survives the season but will it be Rick that causes his death? Rick reaching for his gun in his holster looking at Jesse's husband really reminded me of Shane pointing a gun at Rick way back. Would Rick really kill an innocent man (as far as we know) and the only doctor we've met so far in Alexandria to get the girl? I think at this point he'd be willing to do so tactfully at the right moment as Shane tried to do, but will that change? What if Carl really likes the guy?

Deanna says to Rick something along the lines of "I know you think we should all be armed inside the walls..." So apparently Rick made that proposal to her at some point but is that what he really wants? I think he was bluffing knowing that she wouldn't go for it, as part of his plan to not look suspicious. I think he only wants himself, Carol, and Daryl to have guns, and maybe some more of his own people. Certainly not any of the others.

Anyone else notice they were playing Christmas music (Away in a Manger) when Rick kissed Jesse after she passed Judith to him? What's the significance of that? Are we to believe it is near Christmas? Not sure what the weather is like around DC in December but I would think that Daryl, Jesse and some others would be under-dressed. The party otherwise didn't have a Christmas feel to it and was never mentioned as such so why the Christmas music? They seem pretty resourceful so I don't think it's a reflection of their limited selection.

Did getting stamped with the "A" remind Rick of Terminus?

Carol used a much different approach when she asked Olivia to keep it a secret that she uses apple sauce instead of eggs in her cookies. Was she just bluffing that kid to keep him quiet? Shooting Lizzy who was psycho and murdered her sister was one thing, but would she have it in her to kill an innocent kid who was in the wrong place at the wrong time? If she truly believed it was for the greater good I think she would do it but wouldn't be happy about it.

No, quite the opposite. Assuming walkers are the only threat (just for discussion purposes), the walls as constructed would NOT suffice. If a herd were pushing against the walls from the outside, there is no force pushing back. All the strength from the supports are pushing INSIDE. The supports are worthless unless a herd were trying to get out of the town.

Im talking comparables here

beams on outside will do the job against hordes to some point ... sure a massive horde might be able to breach it ... but there is still a force pulling back

beams on outside dont do ANYTHING against living people ... people can climb them .. people can tamper with the beams and then knock the wall over with ease

I was actually one of the few Noah fans. That was a pretty rough way to go. Thought Glenn was going to kill Nicholas. If someone from Rick's group had to die on that run I was kind of hoping it would have been Tara (could still happen) or Eugene. The good news for Tara if she lives is that Holly is back on the market now that Noah is gone.

Goriest episode ever?

I really liked this episode. I liked Noah and was sad to see him go. I like Tara too, hopefully its just a minor head wound. Cool set up with the three of them in the revolving door

That revolving door was an awesome situation.

After thinking about it for a day or so, I wonder if they could have gotten out of it with some strong coordination...

Open Glenn/Noah slightly to the inside so Nicholas could toss some ammo over to the Glenn/Noah side. Then open Nicholas slightly to the inside so Glenn could reach out to get the ammo and then shoot out door.

This would take a good toss by Nicholas, trust between the two sides and cool heads, so I seriously doubt it woul have worked, but a "team" may have been able to pull it off...

I think Deanna is logical and straight forward in her approach to everything. I think she will see GAbriel for what he is and how he was acting. he was very very off there. I however dont think she will take losing her son well and its going to be a his vs his word on Glenn and Nicholas. IT seems these guys have the process if you are in trouble and they have the chance to save themselves, they will ALWAYS save themselves. Rick is going to run this place by the end of this season
