I just discovered Tonkatsu as a dish earlier this week though.
it's kind of like a Japanese Schnitzel. yum freakin yum.

i heard its a bit overpriced ... more of a trendy spot to be seen?

you cant really go wrong for sushi or any asian in these parts though, can you? (well Gourmet Castle near Hastings and Renfrew used to be my go to late night spot for chinese until a guy sitting near the window got shot and killed in a drive by)

i usually just order from the "white guy" rolls menu: california, spicy tuna, dynamite ... if Im feeling adventurous I go BC roll (lol ... lame I know)

i love me some pho though

My wife and I took a Sushi class several years ago. Its easy to make. The only thing that takes time is making the Sushi Rice (rice & sushi su) and the prepping of all the ingredients : avocado, raw tuna, teriyaki beef, pickled veggies etc.

Tonkatsu is easy to make as well, eggs, flour, panko flakes & pork/chicken & tonkatsu sauce.
