Kari Lehtonen just made the save of the year... easily the best save he's made all year and I can't imagine there have been any better by any other NHL goalies this year either. To say he robbed Jaret Stoll is an understatement. If you didn't see it, I highly recommend watching it on NHL.com. This is the Kari we've been missing all season.

Just typed a how good he's been tonight, that was a hell of a save. Looked similar to the save quick made last night I believe. Kari's probably better

Oh, and John Klingberg might already be my new favorite player. Just his 2nd NHL game and he's already heads above all of their other defensemen except for maybe Daley. Totally calm with the puck, smart in his own zone, great puck carrier, slick passes, no turnovers, threat in the offensive zone... the total package. In his 1st game, he led all Stars in Corsi rating.

Really makes you wonder why he wasn't called up sooner.

They have completely dominated the Kings through 2 periods, but I wish they had a better lead than 2-0 for their effort. They should have 4 goals with the amount of time they've spent in the Kings' zone. The last thing you want to do is let a lifeless opponent hang around within striking distance.

Dillon and Benn have been their 2 worst defensemen. Dillon has some trade value, Benn doesnt. So, trade Dillon, Glennie, and a draft pick for a legit defenseman (Giordano maybe?). Include Sceviour in the offer if need be. Then roll with:

Daley-Giordano
Goligoski-Klingberg
Oleksiak-Connauton

Keep Jordie Benn around only as a healthy scratch and emergency fill-in.

That's 50% of the defense who are essentially rookies, but they're already better than Jordie Benn and at least currently looking better than Dillon. Might as well get their feet wet in a season where we're not Cup front runners anyway.

Klinberg has played much better in 2 games than most of the defenseman have played this year

Unfortunately the one goal was out of play and hit the netting or it could be 3-0, but you're right could be a bigger deficit. Though without Kari's good play tonight the score could be different as well

Kings don't look like they have the energy or desire to give the extra effort for a comeback. Two might be enough, but I think one more goal would seal the win.

If Fiddler could get any lift on that backhand he had the third goal and I think that would have sealed it

Yep, I was thinking the exact same thing. Seguin or Benn might have been able to finish on that one.

That was the closest I think I've ever seen a team come to scoring an own-goal on their own empty net. That puck missed by inches.

Great sports night. Mavs dominate by 53 and the Stars shut out the defending champs.

Kari was fantastic. Glad Garbs scored again today...hopefully he'll be the same player he was last year. And freaking John Klingberg...that is all.

Jordie Benn is just awful right now. He needs to be healthy scratched badly.

As bad as Jordie has been, Dillon has been worse. That first goal against was 100% on him... just horrible. Other than the Roussel-Eakin-Garbutt line, the forwards were a disgrace. No heart, no hustle, no extra effort... nothing. The PP is just gross. They can't even manage 1 shot on goal. The Benn-Seguin line was invisible the entire game. I was at the game and it was just lifeless.

I just don't understand this team at home. They're a completely different team than the one on the road. They come home and they're disjointed and lethargic.

Only good things were Klingberg, Kari, and the Roussel line.

Ugh.

Hard to figure this team out, totally thought they would build on that win vs LA coming home, and not so much. BLAH! Hope to see Klingberg keep it going, they are going to need him
