he was actually a client of a marketing company I worked for. Never met him personally but was always happy to see him in Police Academy. RIP big man.

RIP Big man. I remember watching him play and he terrified many QB's in his day. Not to mention the OL that had to try and block him.

Too young...RIP Mr. Smith...I remember Bubba as a Houston Oiler and a Raider when I was a kid...I was a Steeler fan so I saw him play a lot... He was probably my favorite non-Steeler in the NFL.....sad news, indeed...

When I refereed in the WCHA, Birt Smith was the Commissioner. He was a former Assistant Football Coach at Michigan State. He talked about coaching Bubba Smith and what a great guy he was and how proud he was of him.
