Is calling him a little girl really sexist? It's certainly classless, but I don't know it's that big of a deal. Honestly, more agist than anything.

Maybe Poulter would have a golf major by now if they would let him hit from the ladies tee?

True story: I was corrected by a woman one day at the golf course when I called them the ladies tee. She turned to me and said, "Excuse me, sir, but the proper name is forward tees, I've seen lots of elderly gentlemen hit their tee shots from that forward tee box"

I replied, "I'm sorry if I offended you and where's my sammich?"

Lol.

I really wish they'd start rating tees by handicap. Nothing I hate more than seeing some 20+ handicappers out there hitting off the tips to fuel their egos.

Truth. I played Stewart Creek in Canmore this year (top notch, champ level course). I played with a buddy and two randoms. On the first tee they asked what tees we were playing. I said I was going to the second longest of 5 (I think there's five), my buddy (about a 25 cap) played the middle tees. The two randoms puffed out there chests and said they're playing the tips.

Scores

Me: 75
Buddy:97
Random 1: 102
Random 2: Still waiting for the MIT research group to determine that one.

In their defense they moved up to my tees at 9. It was only a paltry 6700 yards.

Fucking frustrating to watch.

Congrats to Nick, but did he have to pull a Joe Thornton after winning the tourney?

Played golf for the first time in in 4 months yesterday. Started off a little rusty and ended pretty badly (hit it in a lake and the woods on the same hole :L ), but I had a stretch of 10 holes where I played par golf in the middle! 6 pars, 2 birdies, 2 bogeys. Only wish it had coincided with a standardized 9-hole stretch. Also wish that after going +5 on the first 15 holes, that I didn't go +8 over the last 3. ;)

This was somehow the second time I've played with two Canadians that were Leafs' fans in the last dozen times I've played. Random. We bonded over the immense suckocity that is our two hockey clubs.

PS - Good story, Kenny. 75! God damn. What's your handicap? That's impressive.

I only play about 5-8 times a year these days so it's hard to say. Probably a 4 or 5. I was a scratch for a few years back a while. Actually back more than a decade back now. :pout:

I still love it but I just don't have the time to get out much anymore and my game seems to be slipping a little each year

Tiger and Rory both sitting inside top 10 at the moment
No one should be able to catch Speith, but the battle for 2nd could be fun

Pretty awesome weekend for Spieth. This kid is going to be a monster. I like the idea of a Spieth-McIlroy rivalry developing. Since Phil-Tiger has tailed off, it would be nice to see the next generation's greats start to battle it out.

Tiger had a surprisingly great showing - I know Dash was pumped!! ;)

Props to amateur Canadian Corey Conners who carded a 69 after shooting an 80 in the first. He missed the cut, but was the only person who missed it to shoot a sub-70 round and that's a heck of a turnaround.

But I have to go on a little bit of a rant of how the Masters have taken beautiful moments and sucked the life out of them the last few years in the awful, awful void of Butler Cabin.

First, I really hate that they don't do the exchange of the jacket in front of the crowd who has been out there all day. They deserve to see it. Second and related to the first, why would you take all the excitement and energy of that outside environment, the beauty of dusk, etc. and suck it away with the vacuum of four people in a sterile studio shot? The crowd applauding, the sun setting, the beautiful backup of one of the most gorgeous golf courses ever created... no, let's go inside a fucking cabin that looks like a bad sitcom set. Third, I don't need to hear any more words from the Board head or whoever he is from Augusta than "on behalf of our golf club, congratulations, Jordan." That's it. Shut the fuck up after that. You don't have to tell us what a magical weekend it was - we just watched it. Show us a montage of shots - we have high def TVs - they would look much better than you sitting there telling us about them. Finally, the awkward exchanges and being unsure what to do. That isn't a problem outside with family hugging, and hands shaking. It's just natural.

Do us all a favor... move the ceremony back to the green and out of Butler Cabin.
