and he still goes birdie-birdie on 16-17 to get within one shot of a playoff.
was with 2 inches of a birdie on the 18th, as well.

also kudos to Graham DeLaet for the low round of the day, and what is looking like a T2 finish. :canada:
going the other way, 3rd round leader Kevin Chappell played the last 8 holes at +7

Moves to, I believe, 7th in the Fedex Cup race too. This guy hits it too well to not win a tournament. He'll be in the winner's circle within the next year is my prediction.

DeLaet ends up ranked 8th for the Presidents' Cup (top 10 qualify automatically)
He was ranked 56 on Jan 1.

I think I'm going to rename this thread to capture golf updates, news etc., we have enough duffers on this board to warrant it.

Also, congrats to Graham, good to have a Canadian back on the President's Cup team.

/I think he's now 5th in the FedEx Cup points standings as well.

Good call.

I was talking with someone about this over the weekend - why doesn't the PGA scrap the PGA Championship (the least watches, least ballyhooed, least traditioned of the Majors) and make the FedEx Cup the 4th major.

It would make golf more relevant beyond the middle of summer and you'd have a major with multi-week hype. Thoughts?

I like it, but the golf traditionalists would balk at it.

/On a side note, any post with the word "ballyhooed" gets a :thumb: from me.

It's just a shame I can't spell the word "watched" correctly. :L

Isn't "The Player's Championship" at Sawgrass considered the 5th major? Besides, we need to keep the PGA Championship as a major while Tiger continues to chase Jack for most career majors.

With how it's going, we may need to expand to 6-7 majors/year to help him out.

I know he's a terrible person, but I want to see him break Jack's record.
