Perchance have you played?

No. A good buddy of mine played it and said it's the best course he's ever played. He played Div I NCAA golf so he's played a lot of good tracks. I take his word for it. He played a Canadian Amateur at Shaughnessy, which I've played, and said the National was significantly better. To me that means it' one hell of a good course.

Well, too bad for David Hearn, but I'm happy for Jason Day after just missing out on the playoff at the Open Championship a week ago.

Jason Day lives about three miles from me.

Just thought I would share that.

Married to a girl from Columbus, Ohio. Happy wife, happy life.

He has one of the limited number of waterfront properties here in the prairie.

Golf is in pretty good shape with three guys in their 20s (Spieth, McIlroy. and Day) leading the way.

By the way, the US team won the President's Cup earlier today.

/About up there with the John Deere Classic as far as the 'give a crap' meter is concerned.

The final round was incredibly entertaining. Two missed putts of less than 5 feet on 18 caused huge swings in the score. The International Team stormed back to make it close and then Jay Haas (son of the team Captain Bill Haas) won the anchor match as Sang Moon Bae heart-breakingly shanked a chip that rolled back to him in front of his home country's crowd. The 18th hole at that golf course is one of the best closing holes I've seen, setting up challenging up and downs of all variety.

The last hour of that event was honestly the most entertaining golf I've seen this year. It's not the Ryder Cup... but its getting bigger and team golf is just fun regardless of the stakes.

So no more anchoring of long putters? What do you guys think, good rule change?

Absolutely a good change. Not only does it provide an advantage, it just looks kinda lame.

It's also much easier to toss a regular putter in the pond after you missed a four footer in a cash game than it would be to toss a belly putter in the pond.

Not looking too good for Tiger. Never been a fan of the guy (of course his game was once a thing of beauty) but it would be nice to see him get healthy and go out on his own terms... getting his arse handed to him by the likes of Rory, Jordan and Jason. :D

Tiger paints bleak picture on his return
