the occupy movement is at it again. They're encouraging Canadians to call in sick to protest the 1% on May 1st.

Sorry, but I'm an independent consultant (meaning no work, no pay for yours truly). I need to occupy my wife's credit cards.

I'm just glad they made them take down their stupid tents in Niagara square. It looked like shit every time I drove by.

I just watched that kid. The ignorance of youth is bliss.

He has no clue. Want a paid education then join the military and earn a education. Wear a uniform and make something of yourself versus sitting in a tent that people provided for you to "protest" and bring you food and water.

The foundations of all social change has it's roots planted deeply in social unrest, big or small we should never allow ourselves to quiet the voices of those that believe that an injustice must be made just.

I don't believe that all of these folks protesting really know why they are "occuping" many think it's just something cool to do.

But it does make one think about what our society is coming to and if need be, protests become our conscience (peace and civil rights rallies anyone?).

In other words protesting helps keep the scale balanced and that's the best thing going......freedom at it's best, please never underestimate it's power.

And yes that kid is an idiot!!!!!

Here is my problem with Occupy Wall Street, I don't know exactly what their message is. It's for the most part not a move for social change. It's by and large hipsters that want to hang out and make it the next Woodstock. It's completely unorganized and therefore not taken seriously. Anybody with half a brain in that mess is getting overshadowed by the dopes. They should have a leader, or a group in a specific area, where the media can go and get all the answers and main ideas that are trying to be relayed. There probably are some very intelligent people with really good ideas in there, unfortunately they get lumped in with these idiots.

Perfectly stated. I'm not a pro-Occupy guy, but I have more objection to the people who want to quiet their voices while making broad generalizations about who they are, why they shouldn't be there, etc.
