Found some other SRV with "others" vids. This one with Santana, JRV, and the guitarist from Los Lobos I believe, is cool. I got goose bumps during 1 SRV solo. Unfortunately, SRV is gone because I would have loved to see him with Santana. I've seen both but not together.

Saw RHCP on Friday night. They were great... for the brief time they played that is. They were barely able to stretch the show to 2 hours (realistically it was about 1hr 50 mins). If you are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, have the song catalog they have, and charge the amount that they do, you have to come close to the 3 hour mark with your showtime. I don't know if they're just burned out at this point or if they just don't like playing the NE, but I have to say I was thoroughly disappointed.

Been listening to rock for many years and am wondering why KISS was overlooked for entry for the 13th time. I'm not going to say their music was the best but the way so many other groups and performers modeled themselves after them is amazing.

I saw a program on TV where many big name performers are shocked by this. I've heard there's a lot of politics involved in the selection process. Is this true?

I have seen them three times and the show they put on is incredible! Like I said the music is not the best (better than some in the hall) mix that with their show and it's a must see.

RRHOF is 100% political, and always has been. KISS has been pretty outspoken about it (Gene has an opinion on everything), and because of it will pretty much never get in.

If Link Wray isn't in there, that says enough for me.
Even though I'm not a fan, Rush should be a shoo-in as well.

Considering he pioneered feedback/distortion and was pretty much the first to use a "power chord" in rock, I'd say his non-inclusion into the RRHOF would be about the equivalent of not having Jacques Plante in the hall. Bit of a travesty, I would say.
