OT: Let's start fresh SportsHoopla hockey members

So I guess the NHL board has been accused of being filled with overly sensitive people. When I heard this it made me wonder why? There have been very few incidences where members have been banned. If these people making the accusations would look back, most of the problems have come from people not thinking before they type, or a general lack of respect. Personally, I felt bad when SF got banned for 5 days because it was posts like "take that bitches" that pissed him off when he was being a cool poster during the game. He just got pissed off and the gloves were off. Why do we feel the need to say things like that when we've all made some good friends here? I understand we're all fans. We all want our team to win. Hockey fans get very emotional about their team because of the nature of the sport and, in my opinion, it's the most exciting sport to watch there is. I'm not going to point out anything else, and I only use SF because that's a prime example of people getting carried away and it could have been avoided. We're allowed to use every cuss word on here, but does that mean we have to? Or used them in such an insulting manner? We all came here because we were sick of the BS at the swamp. I think the people who were invited are awesome people, everyone of them and I'm glad I've had the chance to meet such passionate fans who are classy people also. I think we all feel that way. We've all made mistakes here. I know I have. I've had issues with at least one member, but we talked it out via PM and smoothed things out. As for GNT'S, let's all try not to get carried away. I know it's not easy when things aren't going your teams way, but maybe try to live by something one of my coaches said to me when I was young, and I try to live by everyday when sports are concerned. Win with class, lose with dignity. Blaming the refs is sad. Refs make bad calls and miss calls, but it goes both ways. Sorry for the long rant, I just felt the need to say these things because of events of this past season. Let's treat members with the same respect we want. Thanks everyone for making this a great place to post, and for being good friends.

Every family gets into arrangements and get pissed at each other now and again. The thing is how do we get over it. Sometimes a time out is needed for clarity. It doesn't mean next week we won't be drinking a beer and insulting NBA fans together.

Good post Wayne, i know i have posted some stupid shit i regret at times at the swamp and here as well. Everyone gets upset on occasion. But as i have tried to teach my son (and myself as well at times) is if your team loses a cup final. super bowl etc.. it is not going to change your life any for the worse or for the better. Win or lose it's not going to change things. There is no use getting that pissed off or upset about it. It's just a game, be gracious, accept the losses and congratulate the winners. Just my opinion.
