I can't. I don't like the NBA, but I did play basketball for 10 years, and rather enjoyed it.

I agree with this as well. Basketball is a good game, however I don't believe the NBA is actually basketball. College basketball is still alright.

I disagree with your reasoning here. There's a reason football players only play once a week and 16 games a year. It's because the sport is so brutal their bodies can't handle more. Running backs very rarely make it past 30 years of age and even when they do they're not nearly as effective. And now with all these studies coming out showing all the brain trauma that NFL players have received throughout their careers, it just proves how physically demanding the sport really is. If anything NFL players are underpaid, especially compared to how much money the owners make. Players get barely anything.

That is some very good reasoning. I still think that they are overpaid because look at hockey. While not clearly as brutal as football is isnt exactly going through a walk in the park. And while both leagues have different cap limits a player in the NHL making more then 10 million is aboslutley ludicrous. IN the NFL dont players get 5 million signing bonuses?

The only difference between hockey and football is that football makes a lot more money across the board than hockey does in the US.

That leads to a lot more money for everyone.

Many non-Baseball athleats say hitting a baseball is the hardest thing in sports. Name another sport where failing 7 of 10 times is concidered good.

Why, because I believe that the planning and call making in football is more mental than in baseball?

I've played both. Baseball is a lot more mental. And I played the second most mental position in football, which is tight end, believe it or not. There are only two positions in football that have to know what everyone is doing on every play: quarterback and tight end.

Baseball was a much bigger mental struggle. Every pitch changes the scenario. And you have to keep up with it mentally, especially as a hitter.

I do see your point and yes NFL contracts are pretty absurd numbers wise, you just have to keep in mind how much money they bring in for their league. I do believe that the NHL is harder to play in than the NFL and that it takes more out of you as well, but on the whole the physical trauma for most players is less than those playing in the NFL. And you're right a lot of players get signing bonuses larger than a year's contract for the average NHL player. But when you're in a league making billions upon billions of dollars every year, you can afford to do that. On the plus side, the NHL players take home a larger chunk of league revenues than NFL players do. So in that regard NHL players are treated more fairly.

The whole sport of football is designed to try and have a mental edge over your opponent.

Just look at their playbooks, the fact that they spend hours upon hours of studying film, and trying to find ways of figuring out what the team is going to do before they do it.

They have helmets with headsets to have people call in plays, audibles at the line of scrimmage, and people that try to tape and decipher call signals.

Football is all about being 3 moves ahead of your opponent just like chess.

no, just seems as though your having an opinon on something which atleast what you have shown when baseball has been talked about you show no interest in, which alot of times people only show interest when they have played/grew up with the sport.

Hitting a ball has nothing to do with it being mental. Having good hand eye coordination helps a lot more than anything.

How many quarterbacks can make a completion on every play while reading the defense with people rushing towards you?

again, I ask have you played baseball? All I'm saying is it is hard to get an actual honest opinion when you haven't done both sides

Overall I think in the NHL you work for your money more then anything where as in the NFL most of it is coming from the billions of dollars the league makes and not as much as your play every week.

And don't give me anything about being ignorant of a sport that I may not share a similar passion with than some of you do on here.

We are all sharing our opinions, and just because I like football more than baseball, that doesn't make me wrong in what I am also trying to say.

I made that comment before I read it getting into a mental thing. But again, if a QB had a 30% Completion % he would be sat on the bench.

This is what I'm always trying to get across when I get stuck in a Miley vs. Selena debate.
