Sports Radio 1290 will debut soon, according to program director Chris Brooke, who confirmed the switch Friday afternoon.

No firm date has been set for when the new station will launch.

CFRW first went to air in 1963 and is most well-known for its popular morning show featuring Don Percy.

The station is the host AM broadcaster for the Winnipeg Goldeyes.

the station doesnt have any broadcast rights for CFL football ... Winnipeg Goldeyes are northern independent league baseball (minors) ... so its oldies for 24/7 coverage of single A calibre minor league baseball
