Does seem a little fishy going from 13 hrs last year, to 40 this year.

i dont believe that at all

I think its just a case where hes playing every day and he's found a coach (Gaston, whos always been known as a great hitting coach) who loves him and has made him his personal pet project

I liken it a bit to Raul Ibanez last year when he went off

Bautista will cash in at the end of the year and then come back down to earth

It certainly doesn't hurt that Vernon Wells is swinging the bat better this season...

He always had power and showed that he had an idea of how to hit when he was with the Pirates, but he could never put it all together. I don't think he'll have any more seasons of slugging .600 or wOBA over .400, but he'll be a solid Major League player going forward. He's been worth a greater WAR this year than the rest of his career combined. 4.6 versus 1.8. Even if you only include his previous positive WAR seasons, this season is still better, at 4.6 versus 3.5.

I see him as a .240/.350/.450 type of player over the course of his career who could fall anywhere between .220/.330/.400 and .260/.370/.550 for his career line, and average 2.5-3.0 WAR/season.

I don't know if they'll get the game in. It's been raining all day. I wouldn't be surprised if they played a double header tomorrow

3rd base line has a better view of the city skyline...oh, nevermind, 46 is going to watch the actual game :D

For this game, he'd want to be in the outfield bleachers, with Pujols one HR away from #400.

Bosox/Mariners rained out. I think they'll play a double header tomorrow
