I'm going to respond to this even though it wasn't directed at me. My friends had the Game Genie, but I objected to using it until I had beat the game without any help. I wouldn't use any cheat codes until then. I was a weird kid (and now a weird semi-adult).

Shockingly enough, I never had a NES or SNES growing up so I never needed one.

I still think the SNES is the best gaming system out there. If you are a RPG fan, no other system can match the brilliance of the SNES.

Cheating in video games is a good way to judge a persons integrity. Although, I will admit, after years of playing Counter-Strike - downloading wall hacks and getting multiple headshots through walls, whilst claiming, "common spot," is hilarious.

I've beaten it several times, so it doesn't bother me, but I love to pull out the cheats playing jedi knight. Having Kyle Katarn pull the blasters out of the stormies' hands and then floating just high enough so they try to punch you but miss is awesome fun.

Only game I ever used cheats on was NBA Jam. The dunks from halfcourt, continuous on fire, Bill and Hillary, Al Gore, Warren Moon. Good stuff!

I used to beat Mortal Kombat by using Lui Kang's flying kick over and over again, whilst yelling, "TEST YOUR MIGHT!" Not really cheating, but fun nonetheless.

No I never did. It was probably just as well, God knows how much time I would have spent playing it if I ever did get drawn into it. My grades wouldn't have been as good as they were, I know that much, lol.

I was at a bar for game one, and this girl was yelling "SHOOT IT" every five seconds. We were on the powerplay, and Gonch was on the point; a Sen layed in front of him and this girl was still yelling "SHOOT IT!" I wanted to choke this bitch, but I settled for yelling "SHOOT IT!" obnoxiously at the screen during intermission. She wasn't pleased.

The only games I really played were Doom and Castle Wolfenstein (and its sequel).
After floundering around for days/weeks, I found the walk-through maps, which were a huge help.
I found the cheat modes too, but rarely used them. God mode gets boring after a while. OK, I admit I sometimes took all the guns to start things off

I got hit by a car while riding my bike to work one morning. Car was going like 5 MPH, but it scared me to death

About 6 years back, one of my friends was hammered biking home from a bar.
A cop saw someone he wanted to pull over and shot out right in front of him. He ended up rolling up the car onto the windshield.

He was so worried about being drunk that he hopped back onto his wrecked bike that barely worked and when the cop got out and asked if he was alright, he responded yes and just kept going.
He was pretty banged up with bruises and scrapes but he didn't want to stop and talk.
