Man, I only got up to Algebra II. That happens when you don't go to college.
That's pretty much all you need to know in order to function(x) in this world.

The 15-pager isn't going to be all that bad. It's a chemistry paper, so half of that will be diagrams, tables, and charts. I'm probably going to use either a kinetic or a quantum study of azobenzene isomerization as my topic, so there will be plenty of graphs and equations and chemical formulas and diagrams and the like to take up space.
And I, like you, work best under pressure. Although, I put everything off to the last minute, so I honestly don't know how I work without pressure...[/QUOTE]
Ha! So true. I should say that I definitely work more quickly under pressure. How does that saying go..."If you wait until the last minute, it only takes a minute to do."
Edit: I somehow fucked up the formatting, but whatevs.
I've never heard that quote before, but I like it. I've just had a really hard time staying motivated this semester. I think I'm just looking ahead to my summer research, and ultimately my senior project research next year. I'm actually really excited for it, and so it's hard to care about these classes I'm taking now, especially since they're largely distribution and graduation requirement classes.
I gave up on Calculus in my Junior year of high school (after years and years of annual math competitions). First week in, I just said fuck it, and I switched to an English class with the Freshmen girls.

Thank you. I was driving my mom's four month old 2009 Hyundai Sante Fe. Completely the other dude's fault. Car was totaled. They said if I had been driving anything smaller, I would be dead. I had very minor injuries...just fucked up muscles in my shoulders that gave me some bad pain for awhile. Still aches, but not horrible at all. I hope you were similarly lucky.
Everyone always said that they didn't like integration by parts, but I never thought it was that bad. Integrating using trigonometric substitutions always game we trouble though.
Exactly why I was an engineering student. No topic sentences, no plot dissection, etc. Just procedures and data analysis. So simple! :p
I had 2 years of Calculus and 2 years of Physics in HS...once I got to college I tested out of Calc I and Phys I and breezed through the II courses. In Physics, I went to the first lecture, looked at the syllabus to see when the tests were, went to the midtem, and took the final. Attended all of 3 lectures all year and got an A.
Agreed. Integration by parts was simple, it was just a math marathon: a mental stamina test. Trig-sub was just confusing.
Four years of an anthropology degree with things like 20 page papers about the religious indications of water in the movie "Once Upon A Time In The West" makes me now laugh in the face of my 3 page papers for a sports management degree and my 1 page assignments for a journalism assignment.
Also, I will correct papers for beer.
My back still gives me problems every now and then, but on the whole I'd have to say I was pretty lucky. I'm glad everything worked out. I hope the jerk's insurance rates skyrocket! :p
Here's to the "nasty car accident" club. I completely totaled my car a couple of years ago; front bumper ended up on the roof of the car. I had to crawl out of the passenger seat window. It was a mess.

Wow. That's awful. Sorry that happened to you. The dude that hit me came from some store, between two cars in the backed up right lane, and nailed me in the left lane (I was going like 30 because my lane was clear). The worst part has been the mental aspect...I have a stress response when I see a car to my right (even if it's just a side road and the person is stopping at a stop sign...I think they're going to ignore it and hit me). I'm hoping that goes away with time. Did you have anything like that?
gosh, that answers sooo many questions about you. no wonder you're the way you are....
i'm just sayin....
I had that for at least a year after my accident. To tell you the truth, I didn't drive a car for a couple of months after mine. The damage to my body was minimal, but the the damage to my mind...that's a different story.
Sorry to hear about your accident, but I'm glad you walked out of it. The mental stuff will go away the more you drive.
